Re: Sonax pf 4/6 vs ex 4/6

It's hard to keep up with stuff as a personal consumer. I do one or two car a year... By the time I'm ready to do another car so many things have come out. I feel this is the case here lol

Sonax pf 4/6 vs ex 4/6

    Hey guys,

So I accidently bought the pf 4/6 today for my Flex DA. I meant to get the ex 4/6... Ugh. Lol...

That being said, I read the differences and from what I can see, ex is designed for DA...
  4. Re: Heading over to the warehouse tomorrow. Need suggestion for one-step to pickup

Well that sucks. This is what you get for trying to read up in the car. I got the perfect finish l, but I meant to get the ex one for my DA... Ugh [emoji35]

  5. Re: Heading over to the warehouse tomorrow. Need suggestion for one-step to pickup

I just Googled the sonax 4/6. I think I'll give that a try... I'm actually going there to get the sonax wheel sealant lol.

I've always liked German stuff. Should work well with thr hybrid force...
  6. Re: Heading over to the warehouse tomorrow. Need suggestion for one-step to pickup

I consider that an "all in one".

I believe 1 step is a surface prep that is done in 1 step. As in you don't need correcting compound followed by finishing compound (2 step).

    A DAT would be a 1...
  7. Re: Heading over to the warehouse tomorrow. Need suggestion for one-step to pickup

Yeah that's the one... No wonder I couldn't find it.

imo it's a little too strong for a one off. Leaves little haze that needs to be finished off with something else.

  8. Re: Heading over to the warehouse tomorrow. Need suggestion for one-step to pickup

    Their website says -

An Isopropyl Alcohol based solution to remove any existing residues or surface contaminants left behind during the polishing process. This product is to be used before...
  9. Re: Heading over to the warehouse tomorrow. Need suggestion for one-step to pickup

yeah, I figured I wipe the car down with 70-30 alcohol when I'm done before putting on coating.
  10. Heading over to the warehouse tomorrow. Need suggestion for one-step to pickup

    Hey guys,

I'm going to head to the autogeek warehouse tomorrow to pick up a couple things. While I'm there, I want to also pick up a one step polish. I want something that'll do general polishing...

Re: Need Your Opinion on an AIO or 1-Step

So what's a good 1 step? I'll ask here isntead of making a new thread. Got a new (to me) '15 X5, which is in good shape. Just want to correct paint then use my ceramic coating after.

    I might have...

Re: Removing "shine" from steering wheel...

    Thanks guys!

I noticed people use APC to clean dirt off leather. It sounds real harsh to me. I have some leather/upholstery cleaner I'll use. It's really not that bad so...

    that being said, I...

    Removing "shine" from steering wheel...

    Hey guys,

We just purchased a 2015 BMW X5 and the car is in very good condition. The leather on the seats is also in pretty good condition. The steering wheel has that typical "used car" shine on...

Re: What are you guys using for spray wax?

Lots of votes for that D156! Looks like BF midnight sun is runner up... I'll check them out. Plan is to apply when car is wet after 2 bucket wash or while doing a rinseless/waterless wash....

Re: which AIO is easy to off?

    McKees' 37 360 AIO.

I don't thikn AIOs perform well, but if it works for your car, this thing comes off as you buff out the polish. towards your 3rd 4th pass, you can't even see it anymore! it's...

    Re: C5 Z06 detail

I've had C5 Z06 and it had pretty hard paint.

I recently purchased a 2011 CL550 and the paint was in great condition with the exception of years of carwash swirlmarks. That car has some pretty...

What are you guys using for spray wax?

    Hey guys,

What's everyone using for spray wax these days? I have the Adam's H2O guard and I really like the product, but I'm looking for something little simpler. I want to mist the panel and then...

Re: LC Hybrid grey heavy cutting pads

So I'm detailing the CL550 today and started out with an orange hybrid and 360. The thing barely cleans up water spot etchings. I tried compound and orange and didn't fair much better. Scratching my...

Re: Rinseless Wash and Nanoskin Mitt

I always wash first then use nanoskin mitt. Think about it like this. even though the "soap" lifts the dirt off the paint, what about the embeded ones that need to be freed with a sponge? with the...
  20. Re: what's one product that has impressed you (lately)?

Lately, I'd have to say nanoskin clay thingies.

I did a maintenance polish using Mckee's 37 Jeweling wax this past week on the vette and I pulled out the good ol' claybar. After realizing it...
  21. Re: What sealant/wax has gotten you the longest protection (except coatings)

    Great thread thanks guys!

I'd like to try the Sonax PNS and BSD. I hear PNS is a pain in the rear to apply though? and how much does the can of spray last??

Re: Grit Guard Washboard - A Comprehensive Review

I bought one and it's great. It's really the same concept as the grit guard, but I don't have to get my arms in a funny angle to scrub against it. It's very natural. I used it for the 1st time today...
  23. What sealant/wax has gotten you the longest protection (except coatings)

Just curious what sealant or wax has gotten you the longest protection from the environment along with beading performance. I'm not including coatings, because I haven't explored that side of the...

Re: The Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits Thread

Forgot to take a pic of the Volt but I just cleaned her up today and some spray wax. I noticed she can really use the McKee's 37 360! I think I will do that this weekend or something.

Re: How to use McKees 37 jeweling wax

    Yup!

Do you change out the pad with the black, or keep using the same one? I would think you don't need to change the pad as often because the pad isn't doing any cutting.
