Re: Rotaries can and will eat paint

Thanks for sharing Mike! Its always a good lesson.

On another note, could this have been avoided in any other way apart from not using a Rotary on a bumper? By this I mean is there a way to avoid...

Re: Hand washing MF towels, and drying them

Washing by hand would require a lot of effort to get them truly clean. Why bother.

I just toss then into the washer for an hour at 40 Degrees Celcius, 1-2oz of 3D towel Kleen and an extra rinse. ...

    Re: Good quality wash mitt?

I really like the MicroChenile wash mitts sold here.

Have used MM Incredimitt but found it a little aggressive. Chenile on the other hand is much softer.

    THat's used on my car.

    Other cars...

    Thanks man!

I actually got it cheaper than Meguiars APC, albeit by a few AED (local currency). However, meguiars is quite a distance away with a good hour of traffic both ways. OPC was...

Re: New car and paint sealant?

I did that too. I got it, came home, wash clay seal.

A week later I noticed all the marring and dealership swirls.

    I cringed.

Took a day off and polished it and then sealed it again.

    Re: Dilution for pre soak

    +1

I don't see why I should use more product for my presoak.

    Presoak is optional either way.

So based on that logic, if I were using 1oz per 3 gallons for my solution, I would use the...

    Re: Rookie Mistake

A lot of people use D156 on their interiors. Auto fetish detail comes to mind when I think about it.

I think you should be fine...

But I will let the pro's chime in.

  23. Re: Can I use towels I cleaned polish with for detail?

Go for it! Polish is supposed to be water soluble so as long as you washed it with a good microfiber cleaner you are good to go!
  24. Re: I am wondering how most detailers clean microfibers and wash mitts

No where near a detailer, but I use 3D towel kleen. 1oz for a light load and 2oz for a heavy load - followed by an extra rinse.

The towels are then dried indoors on a stand as I do not have a...

Polishers are rarely on "sale" , maybe you could get a kit or...
