Re: swirls in metallic dark grey paint

wow, I appreciate the offer! I'm way down in southern Illinois, Carbondale, Herrin, Marion area. This vehicle is my wife's Toyota Highlander. I now have a Ram 1500 crew cab. It took me one time...

    Re: Polisher Decision

I got one from autogeek. They did a price match for me. I paid $110 including tax and shipping. They had it in stock so mine arrived at my house today.
Now I have to get pads before nice weather...
  4. Re: Griot's Garage 6" Random Orbital Polisher

Thanks everyone. I'm going to start looking out for deals on a GG6. I'll probably only use it 2-4 time a year. So hopefully I won't need the warranty but it's nice to know they'll make good on it....
  5. Re: Griot's Garage 6" Random Orbital Polisher

If Mike refers to it as a DA, I'm convinced. He did mention though, that stopping the pad with too much pressure wasn't likely because it has much more power than the pc. He also said that stopping...
  6. Re: Griot's Garage 6" Random Orbital Polisher

Well, two answers that either contradict each other. Or could be just a difference in terminology meaning the same thing. But if it is DA, why wouldn't they just call it that like their competition...
  7. Griot's Garage 6" Random Orbital Polisher

I have a question I guess hasn't been asked yet (I searched) on this forum. I guess I'm the one fool who doesn't know, lol.

Is the Griot's Garage 6" Random Orbital Polisher a "Dual Action"...

I tried and it said the promo code was invalid. It didn't say out of stock though. Regular price was 139.

    Re: Polisher Decision

    BrettS4,
Where can you get the GG6 for around $100? The best deal I can find is $125 + shipping. All I find for closer to 100 is the 3" version. Thanks.

Re: swirls in metallic dark grey paint

Thanks everybody. I'm convinced on getting a da before I do any correction. I've looked for used 7424xp and really, considering the minimal savings, I think I'd be money ahead to buy new. The...

Re: swirls in metallic dark grey paint

Wow, that's a thorough article. Very informative and indicative of the advantages of the DA polishers. I'm sold. Just have to save up a little and live with the swirls until then.

    Thanks...

Re: swirls in metallic dark grey paint

I expected ^ "that person" to show up much earlier. Lol
    It's all good.
Are you saying don't even bother with the klasse AIO or just a swirl remover? It has directions for using by hand.

Re: swirls in metallic dark grey paint

    That's actually a great idea.
I don't know what to expect from the klasse twins. But if they hide the swirls well enough I can probably live with doing one panel at a time or until I get a DA.

Re: swirls in metallic dark grey paint

One nice thing about doing it by hand is that there's almost no chance of rubbing off too much clear coat. I don't even know if that's a valid concern but just the kind of thing I worry about. I...

Re: swirls in metallic dark grey paint

I should add, I would like to remove rather than fill the swirls so I don't have to repeat this step each time I detail.

    Thanks

swirls in metallic dark grey paint

I have dark grey metallic paint that has been neglected and has typical spiderweb swirl marks. They aren't what I would call severe, just the typical we've all seen on daily drivers that aren't...

Re: Coated my tires today and WOW,

Ok. I thought it only came with a foam applicator. I could get a brush easily enough though.
unless somebody has an alternate product suggestion, I'm going to buy some and try it out.
    THANKS

Thanks, I don't have an airbrush but I hadn't thought of that. Good idea for anyone who does.

Re: Coated my tires today and WOW,

I like the results this product offers but wonder if there are any alternatives that work as well but would work better on my tires that have small ribs (for lack of a better term) around the...
