  1. Re: We've lost a legend - Stephen Hawking dead at 76

I was simply pointing out something from the very book that christianity is based on. Denying God (and even worse, influencing others to believe the same) is a very egregious error. (Mark 3:28-30)

    and don't forget Matthew 10:33

Yeah, I don't see the pearly gates opening up for someone who spent a great deal of time telling others that they don't exist.
  3. Re: We've lost a legend - Stephen Hawking dead at 76

And now he knows if there is a God (which he firmly denied).
  4. Re: 1966 AC 427 Cobra - Detailed by Ed Dedick - American Muscle Car Museum

I didn't realize those cars are so rare. I see them pretty regularly around Elkhart Lake (Road America) every summer. And yes, the real deals. One of my favorite cars of all time.
  5. Re: Where to sell your detailing equiment on this forum?

There is no For Sale section here because this forum is sponsored by a business that sells detailing supplies and equipment. Sort of a conflict of interest for them to promote private sales.

Re: How to remind customers to pay for a detail.

I agree that this is most likely a husband/wife scam team. There really are people out there who think nothing of (or even brag about) cheating someone out of hard earned money. If they still don't...

Re: How to remind customers to pay for a detail.

Send a note to the owner asking if they're happy with the service and that if they aren't, you will gladly return the paint to their carpet.

Re: Help with a door ding in a new car..

That doesn't look like paint transfer to me, but it's hard to tell from the low resolution photos. If you run your fingernail across it, do you catch an edge?

Re: Can't get rid of all the scratches

My '05 BMW 330i laughs at foam pads in general. For any serious correction, I need to use wool.

Re: Rupes system and Wolfang DGPS

WG DGPS application is completely independent from the Rupes system polishes, so don't worry about compatibility.

Basically, Rupes has their system that combines their machines, pads and polishing...
  13. Re: Real difference between SONAX EX 04-06 and SONAX Perfect Finish?

Which super soft jeweling foam pad is recommended for using EX 04-06 with a DA? Does it matter if the paint is really hard or soft?

Re: Need Some Help Picking My First DA Pads

Some people like the CCS pads but I would never use them. I don't like the idea of the dimples collecting product and distributing it unevenly. I'd want completely even pad surfaces for the most...

I recently had a conversation with a coworker wherein he told me that heated garages are really bad for cars that see a lot of snow. The problem being that the cars accumulate a lot of road salt...

Re: How do you tell if wax is gone ?

In the OP's defense, I don't remember this question being asked very often. The question isn't a basic matter of beading (with sealant/wax) versus sheeting action (with no protection). It's more...
  21. Re: How long to wait before applying 2nd coat of DGPS?

Moisture will diminish the bonding so I'd highly recommend you keep it as dry as possible. That also means dew can be a problem.

Re: Best wax for metallic black cars ?

It's a toss-up between Fuzion paste wax and Souveran. The Fuzion will bring out the metallic flake, but Souveran has more depth.
  23. Re: Why isn't there a universal color code for buffing pads?

I use a much more low-tech method to categorize my pads. I take a Sharpie and write on the edge of the pad... "POLISH", "MEDIUM" or "HEAVY". I can usually tell what brand the pad is by the shape so I...

  25. Re: Why isn't there a universal color code for buffing pads?

The reason there is no standard color assignment for pads is because that would make it easy for the consumer to mix pads from different manufacturers. Having a unique color pattern makes it harder...
