    Re: Best finish polish

The Menz products are 1st rate, but I've recently tried the Optimum Spray Polish and was super impressed with the zero dust, long working time and final results. I'd definitely give the Optimum a...

    Re: Clear Bra Removal

I did a clear bra removal on a black Ferrari Challenge Stradale (talk about nervous....whew). The process I used came from an installer in Atlanta that does exotics.

    Re: Totoland's Almost Back

Yea.....tall stuff is a bear! That Durango is pretty high off the ground, especially for the roof. I'm going to tackle that on a warmer day and apply a bunch of sealant to the roof. Hopefully it...

    Totoland's Almost Back

Hey folks! Been awhile but I'm sticking my nose back in some limited detailing. I've been working with K9's for the last year and a half, but still love detailing. The K9 company is ramping up to...

    Re: OK Computer Guys

I bought an IBM eServer 9 years ago and except for power outages, it's been running 24/7 for 9+ years. I think the server line is now Lenovo, but if the quality hasn't slipped...they are built like...

    Re: Black Lexus

way to bring out the black Sparkie! Been a while for me but I'll probably jump back in the detail arena this Spring. For now, it's working a bomb K9 at a military base in Wisconsin (snow and all)
  10. Re: Mon-Fri Job Gone: Maybe It's Time for Full Time Detailing

Hey Gary: one thing I've become a wizard at is the art of shop vac'ing dog hair....I have that Shepherd and a Golden Retriever (our school friendly drug dog)....man, shedding is their favorite...
  11. Re: Mon-Fri Job Gone: Maybe It's Time for Full Time Detailing

That's pretty funny!....I forgot that I originated the post.

I've reduced my detailing to a few choice customers and am taking a year (or so) to do K9 handling for a private company. The company...

    Re: Detailing with Diabetes

Derrick: I've been diabetic for 20+ years and found there are tons of methods to control it while you are detailing.

Re: Black BMW From Horrible to Honorable

Most times with compounds, I try to get as much "finish" out of the process as possible. On some cars, 3M Dark Glaze is my go-to polish while others I use 106ff or fa if I have some light swirl...

Black BMW From Horrible to Honorable

Re: BMW 330Xi Sparkling Graphite - Done!

I haven't used the SIP product from Menzerna. I'd probably use Power Gloss if there are scratches in the surface, (wool or foam..you should experiment), followed by 106fa with a polish pad.

Re: BMW 330Xi Sparkling Graphite - Done!

I wouldn't say "stained". It will darken that trim somewhat. If you want to see a sample of how #26 looks on trim: apply some to the flat black side window panels on the front/rear doors. Remove...

Re: BMW 330Xi Sparkling Graphite - Done!

Nope, other than darken trim somewhat because of the oils in it.

Good, good stuff for a final product.

Probably 50% at least. Then Silver or Gray (40%) and a smattering of white and other colors.
