If using heavy cutting wool pad, which in extremly neglected(scratched) paints or very hard paints is needed then is important to do a 2step with foam cuting pad then 3 step finishing.
This is my process and I never had problem with any kind of pad.
Bucket, warm water, 50ml apc (for 4, 5 pads) let them sit for about 5 minutes, agitate a bit, rinse them.
