  1. Re: Is Pinnacle Advanced Wheel Cleaner the right product for me?

I'm not even expecting to completely get rid of the stains. I've only done one wheel so far, and it took so long that I thought I'd look for a better way. I'm hoping for one of these outcomes:

    1)...
  2. Re: Is Pinnacle Advanced Wheel Cleaner the right product for me?

Thanks, I'll take a look at that.
  3. Re: Is Pinnacle Advanced Wheel Cleaner the right product for me?

That sounds like the beginning of the end for the forum.
  4. Re: Is Pinnacle Advanced Wheel Cleaner the right product for me?

I don't really WANT to try a product that I haven't used before, and have it fail. Which just leaves me wasting more of my time. And I don't expect any one product to be a miracle cure and make my...
  5. Re: Is Pinnacle Advanced Wheel Cleaner the right product for me?

Could I get a mod to delete that person's spam reply? Thank you.
  6. Is Pinnacle Advanced Wheel Cleaner the right product for me?

I have a set of un-coated aluminum wheels, that have been neglected. They have a lot of staining from baked-on brake dust. I washed, clayed, and polished, and the stains are still there.

    Will...
  7. Re: Deep cleaning a silver plastic intake manifold

If it's really oily, seems like the best thing to get oil off is another petrochemical. Maybe some kerosene, or WD-40? Or have you tried any plastic cleaner, or plastic polish?

    Re: Brake caliper paint

I've been thinking about using black POR-15 rust inhibitor on brake calipers. It's proven virtually impossible to remove that stuff from places it got that I didn't want it.

Re: How to remove glue from dash?

Maybe heavily coat it with some sort of moisturizing vinyl & plastic protectant, let it set overnight. Perhaps the next day the protectant will have made it's way under the adhesive, weakened the...

    Re: Tree sap?

I've had luck with using rubbing alcohol to remove stubborn sap. Followed by re-waxing those areas.
  11. Re: Quick tip regarding wet/dry vacuum filters

K&N filters also have an optional pre-filter available for some filter sizes.
  12. Re: Quick tip regarding wet/dry vacuum filters

Because then they couldn't sell you as many filters?

But, some wet/dry vacs come with a foam filter. It's supposed to be used instead of the pleated paper filter when vacuuming wet debris, or just...

    Re: Identify this hood ornament?

Regardless of what vehicle it came from, if it doesn't whistle, getting louder as you go faster, I'll lose faith in human ingenuity.
  14. Re: Effects of ash on automotive paint/trim in Pacific Northwest

Sounds good. Thanks for the input, and info on different ash types. It all washed off nicely. The interior still smells like smoke, but I haven't had a chance to rent a carpet shampooer yet. Just...
  15. Re: Effects of ash on automotive paint/trim in Pacific Northwest

Sweet Trans Am you have there. Also, I was going to guess Burning Man until I read your next post in this thread.
  16. Re: Effects of ash on automotive paint/trim in Pacific Northwest

I'm also in Oregon, in the Santiam Valley. I'm curious about this as well. I'd also like to hear any suggestions for washing ash-covered vehicles that are in addition-to, or instead-of, normal...

    Re: The Reverse Test Spot

And when you did this, it didn't leave behind any barely visible lines? (From the finish being imperceptibly uneven where the tape was applied.)

Re: Car Cover Dilemma, Part 2...

I used a car cover in my garage for many years, and I absolutely loved it. After driving, as long as it wasn't raining (snowing, heavy fog, etc.) I'd dust off my pickup before putting the cover over...

    Re: Holy mouse smell hell!

I had mice make a home in one of my pickups over the winter, several years ago. I didn't think I'd ever get rid of the stink! One day, my heater core started leaking, so I had to pull that entire...
  20. Re: How do I clean the underside of a vehicle?

Put on some rain gear and eye protection, grab some kind of not-eco-friendly all purpose cleaner (if it burns your skin, eyes, and lungs, it'll get dirt off your undercarriage.) and an assortment of...
  21. Re: Any solution for wheel bucket organization?

You could get a belt, or harness of some type, from a military surplus store. Then attach the brushes to that. You could also attach your detailing clay, a flashlight, vinyl protectant...um....cell...
  22. Re: KNEE PADS..... $150 dollar budget please advise, help, opinions.

Try a thrift store. I got a nice pair of flexible, silicone molded knee pads from a local thrift store for $5.00.
  23. Re: Questions on the Aussie Merino Wool Wash Mitt

I got mine in August (2017) or so, and it came in a plastic bag, inside a cardboard box, cushioned with Styrofoam packing peanuts.

    Re: polishing aluminum wheels

When I polish my aluminum wheels, I find it easier to take each one off of the vehicle. That way I can work on them at a more comfortable height, as well as being able to clean the inside of the...

    Re: Car Covers?

If that garage you stored your Trans Am in had owls, or any other birds, that got inside and left waste on your car..or if there was a hole that cats could get in and they walked all over your car...
