  1. Re: Could anybody recommend a good portable scissor lifts?

Quick Jack units are definitely the best bang for your buck.
  2. Re: Am I washing my microfiber towels wrong way?

I've never air dried my MF towels so I cannot comment on it being a factor. I can tell you that I wash mine on warm and always use vinegar as a rinsing / softening agent as well as a second rinse...

Re: Lake Country Force Pads at AG?

I've been using force pads for quite a while now and prefer them over the hybrids. They last longer, run cooler, and are easy to line up on the first shot with the hole in the center.

Re: Best coating to apply outside

CQUK is an excellent coating option that is plenty forgiving for outside applications.
  6. Re: brinkmann dual led/halogen rechargeable spotlight - repairable

I'd say either the battery pack or the charger is toast. Both can be replaced.

Re: Griot garage boss pads vs regular pads

I've been wondering the same thing except about griots pads vs LC force pads.

    Re: Wax over reload

I would suggest layering reload as it is a sealant, compatible with itself, and is much more durable than any wax.

Re: How do you polish tail lights?

Compounds and polishes for paint have worked just fine for me ever since I started doing corrections quite a while ago. I see no need for specialty polishes for headlights and taillights as of yet.

Re: What do you all charge for...

I'd be at roughly $350-$450 depending on vehicle size.

Re: How to rid my glass of phantoms!

Compound and a heavy cutting pad should clean it right up unless the waterspots are etched into the glass.

    Re: Menzerna FG 400 ??

I used to use the same combo thinking it was the perfect match. Do yourself a favor and try LC purple wool pads with Griots FCC!

    Re: Menzerna FG 400 ??

Hmmm, thats a tough one as I like both Sonax and Menz products. I'd say try both finish polishes and stick with the one that works longest, cleanest, and provides the best gloss for your paint.

    Re: Detailing a Patrol Car

There really is no need to mask off the decals so long as you tread lightly across them during the polishing process. I used to mask off vinyl graphics when I first started out and ran into the...
  17. Re: Best tire shine/application for tires with aggresive sidewalls

I've had excellent results using water based dressings and have never experienced any sling at all. The key is to apply in thin layers until you achieve the finish you want. For me I'm looking only...

    Re: Detailing a Patrol Car

Vinyl graphics shouldn't be any problem at all. Polish and wax right over them as if they were paint. Just be careful not to leave wax residue along the outer edges of the graphics! Lol!
  19. Re: Another day another what do I need to buy question

What are you using for a polisher?
Stoner Tarminator is a must have! As far as pads and polishes, get yourself a bottle of Griots fast correction cream, a bottle of Griots perfecting cream, 4-6...

  21. Re: Best tire shine/application for tires with aggresive sidewalls

On tires with aggressive markings or sidewalk tread I use Perl in a fine mist spray bottle and just deal with wiping off overspray from the wheel. I get the most even coverage this way. Others use...

Re: Iron X (or similar) users

Next time, fill your bucket with a hot water and ONR solution. The hot water softens the rubber and the ONR provides lubrication which helps prevent marring.

Re: Is it called a headlamp?

I have a coast HL8 that I've been using for a while now. Super bright, adjustable output, and great battery life. So far I'm quite pleased with it.

Re: How do you polish tail lights?

I usually cut and polish plastics first and then change pads for paint. Sometimes I'll hit them after I'm done with the paint.

Re: For All You Rupes Lovers vs Flex

I own and use Flex and Rupes machines. With that said, I always reach for a Flex when heavy cutting is needed. My Rupes machines did not play well with MF and wool pads. Couldn't get them to stay...
