  1. Re: Recommend Paint Finishes for Daily Driver Off-roaded Trucks/Vehicles

I didn't take photos of the worst of this, which was on the passenger bed side.

Yep, this was just what I was thinking this past weekend of trail running: hauling my cordless hedge trimmer...
  2. Re: Recommend Paint Finishes for Daily Driver Off-roaded Trucks/Vehicles

I try to avoid those trails, but sometimes there's no way around it on a narrow mountain with the possibility of other vics back down the trail.

I've got too many vics to begin with (4), so...
  3. Recommend Paint Finishes for Daily Driver Off-roaded Trucks/Vehicles

I've been recreational off-roading my black full-size truck whenever I have a free weekend, but during a narrow trail excursion with overhanging brush, I came out with massive horizonal scuffs...

Re: CR Spotless or other DI water systems

In the aquarium link I posted, the OP went to Big Blue size and to handle that, he switched to an inverted 5 gallon water jug (with 1/2" bulkhead fitting, 1/2" ball valve, and 1/2" to barbed fitting...

Re: CR Spotless or other DI water systems

I realize this thread is a year old, but I'm curious as to what were your regeneration costs that leads you to claim that regenerating mixed bed resin is "expensive and not cost-effective?"

    I've...

Re: Removing Scratches from Glossy Interior Trim

Thanks Mike! I will certainly read that thread thoroughly for techniques applicable to my situation.

BTW, I've got several 3" pads of different cutting designs along with different grades of...

Re: Removing Scratches from Glossy Interior Trim

It's the center console top trim in my BMW, and being a large piece and almost always in the sunlight, I see the scratches every time I look down at it in the day.

I will first try the M105+M205...

Re: Removing Scratches from Glossy Interior Trim

I can post pix later today but none of the minute hairline scratches catches my finger nail nor are they visible unless under bright light and at certain angles.

Removing Scratches from Glossy Interior Trim

I've got super glossy faux wood trim that has minute scratches. I tried plastic polish by hand along with a coat of carnauba wax but the scratches remain.

What is the next level I can go to...

Re: What to follow up after Meguiar's M105

I think this issue is paint oxidation. I didn't really examine it; just noticed the loss of gloss around the raised areas of the hood while driving her car the other day. That's when I asked if she...

Re: What to follow up after Meguiar's M105

Poifect! It's saves me time, effort, and more importantly, money!

The BMW and 300 are daily drivers and I will top them off with a synthetic sealant/wax system, like Zaino AIO + Z-2.

Re: What to follow up after Meguiar's M105

Hehe, well, the thread is not all useless because there are the typical swirled paint issues (which is the first half of my question) along with a couple blotches (and yes, I'm concerned about those...

What to follow up after Meguiar's M105

I bought a used 5 year old BMW that previously lived out in the desert and thus has many issues with its original white paint: swirls and long, horizontal streaks along raised edges, and a few spots...
