In OTC, Mothers chrome / metal polish works. If really bad, Eagle one "never dull" has worked for me in the past.

I use CG's metal cleaners and polish now.

And you are exactly right. A typical target shopper is not going to go Into the Automotive department and look for boutique level car care products. They want affordable ones...

How many towels? I used one for washing and one for buffing. I typically go thru 3-4 wash towels and 2-3 buffing towels
