Re: What's been your bigest game changers? And why?

Time flies. 2014 seems like yesterday.

I will give that technique with Opti Glass a try.

I remember ADS! I bought a LOT from them going back ten years ago.

Re: What's been your bigest game changers? And why?

How long would you say that you've had the O.C. 2.0 syringes?

I had a hard time with Opti-Glass at first. The tutorial Optimum put on their YouTube page makes it a breeze. My first nozzle clogged...

I have mine in a large tote with the gun and a 50' collapsing hose. Very compact.

    Re: Waterless wash/quick detail

These days, I'm almost all Optimum.

They just came out with a new watheleswash, but I've been using their Opti Clean. I wish that I had a product like that in the 90's.

    I also really liked...

I think my friend has some Zap cloths. I'm intrigued.

    Re: Zap Cloth

There is a marked difference for me when doing commercial jobs vs retail. Great point.

    I've used the Absorber.

In 1998, the girl I was dating had the summer chore of washing and waxing her...

Re: What's been your bigest game changers? And why?

I've had great luck with my El cheap-o Ryobi. My friend had cooked two or three cheap (not the Ryobi) pressure washers in the time I've had mine. But - he PUNISHES his stuff.

Re: What's been your bigest game changers? And why?

    OH!

Yeah, I thought you were referring to Hyper Seal taking a long time to flash off, and having to wipe a lot of it off.

Oh yeah, the glas bottle coatings. Wipe off towels will either become...

Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

    Excellent mustache , my friend!

You resemble my cousin's husband who is a great dude and is crazy about taking care of his vehicle.

Re: What did you do today non-detailing related?

My better half and Iboth have Fridays off.

We woke up to more snow in Metro Detroit - which I hope kills off a good amount of mosquitos.

Due to all the music I've been doing, I've been...

Re: What's been your bigest game changers? And why?

I've found Hyper Seal to take much longer to flash away than GC and OS. BUT - it was designed to be sprayed on and wiped off.

The sprayer releases quite a bit of product. I've put some in an old...
  13. Re: what's the last car care/detailing video you've just watched?

I've never subscribed to using pressure on my tools.

When I bought my first polisher in 98, the only instruction I received was from the guys at the painters supply shop warning me not to burn...
  14. Re: what's the last car care/detailing video you've just watched?

    It was a Jimbo video.

Re: Pads? Polishes? I need a system!

    What was your old system?

These days I toggle between two, and have an honorable mention.

My "go to" is selected from the 3D range of products.
    AAT502 is my fine polish.
    3D ONE is my...

Re: What's been your bigest game changers? And why?

    Rinseless wash.

Sure, many years have passed - ten years in April that I first used a rinseless wash. It was actually the Turtle Wax offering. It was being blown out at the retail locations, so I...

    Re: The Edge Buffing Pads

I never used the adapter system, but I did have some hook and loop pads under the "Edge" name.

I used the blue and green.

Very similar if not identical to the Buff and Shine / Hex Logic green...
  20. Re: Advice Needed: Expanding My Polishes Collection

    Welcome!

When I started using a random orbital I'm 2013, I started with Meguiar's Ultimate Compound and Ultimate Polish. I used them a LOT.

I've tried others and even use another line, but I've...

Re: Looking For A New Polish

These days it's mostly 3D for me.

    Reasons:
    1. Low to no dust.
    2. Very economical.
    3. Great cut to finish ratio.
    4. Doesn't stain trim pieces.

Re: FINALLY - Looking into Ceramic Coatings!

I was very reluctant to try them. It just seemed like a ton of hassle.

I landed on Optimum Gloss Coat, and aside from a small sampling of various CarPro coatings, and the lines we use where I...

Re: How to remove tape adhesive from PPF?

The Goo Gone is citrus based if I remember correctly.

Goof Off is probably something much stronger. We've had that stuff do some damage on some very expensive vehicles.

    I actually like the way...
