    Re: The Edge Buffing Pads

I never used the adapter system, but I did have some hook and loop pads under the "Edge" name.

I used the blue and green.

Very similar if not identical to the Buff and Shine / Hex Logic green...
  3. Re: Advice Needed: Expanding My Polishes Collection

    Welcome!

When I started using a random orbital I'm 2013, I started with Meguiar's Ultimate Compound and Ultimate Polish. I used them a LOT.

I've tried others and even use another line, but I've...

Re: Looking For A New Polish

Yes, I called the factory one day in 2022 and was directed to him. Super nice guy too! I could have talked with him for hours but I was on the clock.

One of the last couple time I called to place...

Re: Looking For A New Polish

It's like Hyper Polish on steroids. No marring so far, even with the Purple Foamed Wool, and Hyper Wool pads.

I wanted to enquire on the site but the moderator is way more gregarious over the...

Re: Looking For A New Polish

These days it's mostly 3D for me.

    Reasons:
    1. Low to no dust.
    2. Very economical.
    3. Great cut to finish ratio.
    4. Doesn't stain trim pieces.

Re: FINALLY - Looking into Ceramic Coatings!

I was very reluctant to try them. It just seemed like a ton of hassle.

I landed on Optimum Gloss Coat, and aside from a small sampling of various CarPro coatings, and the lines we use where I...

Re: How to remove tape adhesive from PPF?

The Goo Gone is citrus based if I remember correctly.

Goof Off is probably something much stronger. We've had that stuff do some damage on some very expensive vehicles.

    I actually like the way...

Re: How to remove tape adhesive from PPF?

    Stay clear of Good Off!

We tend to use the Goo Gone.

I keep Optimum T.A.R. on my cart though.

    Re: Wax better than Fuzion?

I haven't used Fuzion, but I still enjoy using Zymol when I get the opportunity.

I found Concourse to hold up better than their Creame and Carbon offerings.

That being said, I use Creame and...

    Re: IPA after ceramic application?

I've had limited success with using Eraser immediately after application. I've also has success with Meguiar's professional mild clay.

This is with Xpel Fusion Plus.
  12. Re: Suggest me a one-step polish with nothing left behind!

3D ONE is my go to for polishing, but I actually enjoy the panel wipe process. For dedicated finish polishing I use 3D AAT502 most times.

I like using Optimum Gloss Coat, and I use their panel...
  13. Re: Suggest me a one-step polish with nothing left behind!

I take it a step further and call polishes with protection "polishing wax", or "cleaner wax"

I had no idea how difficult it would be for people to navigate this topic.

    It's to the point that...
  14. Re: Detailing Products - Buy the smaller bottle to get the -branded bottle-

I've been using my Megs more and more lately!
  15. Re: Best collection of polishes for German Paint....Menzerna or better....?

I just use whatever I have on my cart, and it's 3D ACA500, and 3D ONE. We do a lot of high end foreign / European vehicles, and their performance has been exceptional.

    Pads are just as important...
  16. Re: Detailing Products - Buy the smaller bottle to get the -branded bottle-

    Only with polishes.

I buy the 8oz because they're easy to place in a pocket while doing roofs of larger vehicles.

3D, Hescar, Menzerna, CarPro and many other companies offer them.

Re: Do I really need a foamer?

That's not a universally applicable statement.

I know of plenty of tunnel and self serve washes that use 100% fresh water. At least in Michigan.

    Re: Rupes microfiber pads

For me the wool performs better than microfiber.

    They stay cooler.
They are easier to clean and keep clean.
They don't load up with spent product or residue as easily as microfiber.

    I've...

    Re: Clay disaster??

I had the Nanoskin clay blocks, mild and aggressive. I couldn't tell a difference. They both scratched up the paint really thoroughly.

I use the Meguiar's clays, mostly the fine C-2000. The...
  21. Re: New products your looking forward to most post-SEMA?

The new Megs coatings. We just...

Re: Good towels for fragile clear? Canada

My favorite polish removal towels are The Rag Company 365.

They're a dual density towel. One side is more stout, and the other ever so slightly "less stout", but not "plush".
