  1. Re: Feel like I was duped here with detailing and ceramic coating

I would not contact him unless you dont see the refund within the next few days. A response from him like that is totally unprofessional and shows the quality of his work. I have no respect for him...
  2. Re: Feel like I was duped here with detailing and ceramic coating

I actually took your seriously and didnt think sarcasm personally. But could see how that could be interpreted. MOST people do not know how to wash or dry a vehicle properly. 25% or so of scratches...
  3. Re: Feel like I was duped here with detailing and ceramic coating

Well, hand wash with the appropriate wash soaps, wash mitt (or multiple MF towels, one for each panel), and the most important item ----the drying towel. ONLY use a microfiber specific drying towel....
  4. Re: Feel like I was duped here with detailing and ceramic coating

To the OP --- I am so sorry this took place. Your 70k or so Yukon deserves much better than this person. I, throughout all the posts, saw numerous red flags.

    1. Getting a car with even a light...

  7. Re: 2017 Aston Martin Rapide S (Long Story & Lots of Photos)

    Hey buddy,

Great work with the Aston! The black metallic is the best paint IMHO they have. I unfortunately have the fast track "Jet Black" for my DB9. But I wasn't going to pass up an extremely...

Re: The Mini Plate for the Flex

I think a mini Flex might be too heavy and with the ability of using 5" pads and being able to TILT a Flex 3401, not too sure if one would be needed. I found that I didn't even use my NEW Rupes LHR...

Re: Piano Black Gloss Interior Trim

Rupes iBrid has all you need, but very not cheap

I stripped all the wood out of my AMG then polished them with a 3" GG. Same steps as the car paint. The clear is soft. When I finished I applied...

Re: How do I get that "wet look"?

    1. How long has it been since you had the vehicle re-painted?
    2. If longer than 2-3 months, then you need to make sure the Paint is level again, like it was directly after the re-painting.
    3. When...

    Re: which pads to order?

For the FLEX 3401 the HYBRID pad system with 5" pads are the best pads for the machine. They were specifically made for the 3401.

    1. Get the LC backing plate system with the 4" plate that was...

There is a whole bunch of misconceptions out there about coatings and what they are, how they function and their maintenance. I hope the below will help you understand the Hardness misconceptions. ...
  14. Re: Water Spot Issues after Coatings are applied and how Paint reacts to hot and cold temperatures

The water spot issue point is that in order to get to the spots and correct them the panels must be heated up, so then you see them to correct them. (IE....under sun at car show they show up due to...
  15. Re: Water Spot Issues after Coatings are applied and how Paint reacts to hot and cold temperatures

    Bryan,

I am glad this thread is starting to get some responses at least in question or understanding form.

  16. Re: Suggestion for a DA Random orbital machine to be used to buff away the wax/polish/compound

I will try and answer this best as possible and touch on each of your questions.

In removing your compound/polish/wax it is best by far to do by hand. What would you use to remove the substances...
  17. Re: Water Spot Issues after Coatings are applied and how Paint reacts to hot and cold temperatures

@RPM_BR -----That was the whole purpose for the thread is so members can learn more of the products they use. Mike eluded to that in his post and said this topic hasn't been really discussed, which...
  18. Re: Water Spot Issues after Coatings are applied and how Paint reacts to hot and cold temperatures

The product is interesting, however .....

    1. Glazes are the old product that has fillers to fill in marring and scratches, then without panel wipe apply your carnauba or sealant of choice. These...

Re: Mercedes s550 Micro Marring issue

FG 400 on orange pad and SF4500 on white pad is the perfect combination for Black Merc paint. Owned 2x AMG in black and that is what I used for both of them perfectly. Taking your SF4500 (po85rd) on...

  23. Re: Water Spot Issues after Coatings are applied and how Paint reacts to hot and cold temperatures

  24. Re: Water Spot Issues after Coatings are applied and how Paint reacts to hot and cold temperatures

    Sir,
You are correct in saying you only level as much as you need or choose too. However with coatings, the question was how much can you remove safely now that the coating was applied. If it was...
