Re: 3 Easy Steps to Wet Looking Paint!

In a perfect world perhaps. Improper washing isn't the only threat. What if your car is parked outside where many factors from weather to cats to daily driving activities may introduce flaws into...

Re: 3 Easy Steps to Wet Looking Paint!

Maybe less time until you have to correct and seal it again after you notice new flaws in your paint. I feel the majority of the folks who do it my way don't want to invest the time, resources, or...

Re: 3 Easy Steps to Wet Looking Paint!

I saw the girl again a few weeks later and she told me her boyfriend washes her car now that she showed him how to do it right.

Re: 3 Easy Steps to Wet Looking Paint!

Thanks for having an open mind to trying something new! The paint doesn't have to be flawless, though. It probably won't feel as good as if you used clay. And it doesn't correct imperfections like...
  11. Re: Glaze: Do they all work the same? My quest for the the best glaze..

I've ordered more glazes than you can shake a stick at from here and only one stands out--wolfgang finishing glaze--it's a total showstopper.

Re: 3 Easy Steps to Wet Looking Paint!

Those are all interesting opinions. However, I can't guarantee that you'll achieve the same results I did if you use different products or alter the steps. Keep in mind that we are taking a shortcut...

Re: 3 Easy Steps to Wet Looking Paint!

Again, my goal is to share information. My techniques may not satisfy everyone and may not be the best solution for every situation. I've read some really good posts and suggestions and can even...

Re: 3 Easy Steps to Wet Looking Paint!

Step 3 is more of personal preference. If you're satisfied with the look with the first couple of steps then you can skip it. I think it makes a noticeable difference but that's just me.

Re: 3 Easy Steps to Wet Looking Paint!

    Sure, why not?

It'll probably take a little longer but I believe we should all experiment. And if you come up with a variation of my routine that has awesome results let me know and I will try it!

Re: 3 Easy Steps to Wet Looking Paint!

    Good point.

Depending on things like the size of the car, if I need to take a whiz, or if a hot chick passes by and I'm trying to get her number...I'd say anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes.

    But...

So you've tried it exactly as I described or by using other products/techniques?

It depends on your definition of "well maintained". That could mean anything from a mint condition garage queen to...

Re: 3 Easy Steps to Wet Looking Paint!

Actually the paint doesn't have to be flawless. My car, for example, sits on the outside under a tree. The paint has chips, swirls and scratches like crazy--and it's black so every flaw is even more...
