Re: Menzerna CGW 3 in 1

Also, is there a clear choice as to MF vs foam polishing pads with this product?

That didn't directly answer my question, but it was very good information. Thanks!

    MF vs Foam comparison

I've seen quite a few charts showing the various levels of cut from foam pads, I'm wondering if there is a clear point where microfiber pads would fit for comparison purposes.
    I primarily use LC...

    Menzerna CGW 3 in 1

First, how does this stuff compare to McKee's 37 360?
Does one have a significant advantage in correction ability?
Is CGW at all similar to Meguiars D151?

Re: Frustrated, need some guidance please.

I went with 5" pads, hopefully they will rotate really well compared to 6" ones, never really had much of a problem with that though.

Re: Frustrated, need some guidance please.

That was the original question I guess.
What I was leaning towards was an OPT MF polishing pad, hyper polish, and a long throw DA

Re: Frustrated, need some guidance please.

I'd prefer to stay away from Meguiars stuff if practical. Many reasons, nothing worth bringing up here.
I thought FG400 was above or at least equal to 105 in terms of cut.
    Perhaps I'll see if...

They call it "Brilliant Silver". I was planning on using Micro Surface tufbuff black wool pads, and I just ordered some FG400.

Re: Frustrated, need some guidance please.

Paint code is 744. I think this may be before true Ceramiclear, but if I remember right the paint might be advertised as scratch resistant.
I'll look at that post, Thanks.

    Frustrated, need some guidance please.

    Hi
I'm working on my 2001 Mercedes E55 and it's got absolutely diamond hard paint.
I'm having a hard time making ANY effect on the paint.
I'm working with OPT Hyper compound and polish.
    I...

That's perfect, thank you! Pictures are very helpful to me. :dblthumb2:
  13. Re: Can someone help me understand forced rotation?

So it would seem to me that the rotation of the spindle in indeed locked in place.
I was thinking it was sort of like the earth and sun, the earth rotates around its own axis and obits around the...
  14. Can someone help me understand forced rotation?

I was wondering, does the flex VRG have 2 axes of rotation? That is, does the spindle rotate and orbit around? Or is the pad locked in place and it only orbits around the center point?

    I ask...

    Help with simple wash/wax please

Our shop is in its seasonal doldrums and my boss said he'd pay me to clean up our loaner cars.
He just wants them washed and waxed I guess.
I I just ordered some LC hybrid pads in orange, blue and...

    Re: hydrotech pad guide

I greatly prefer 5" or smaller pads. I feel they are more comfortable to use because they transmit less force back into my hands

How do the microfiber pads work finish and durability wise? Is it worth switching?
Specifically the ones from Optimum, I just really like that company I guess.

    aggressive claying towel/pad

Is there one of those nanoskin-like towels or pads that is good for heavy duty contamination removal? I'm almost out of Meguiars Red clay.
I recently purchased the OPT fine blue towel and I like it...
