Re: Best cleaner wax OR AIO for hand application

Agree, any of the DG products are tough to beat. They will outlast most ceramic AIOs.

Mother's cleaner wax is another good one. Doesn't last as long as DG but a better cleaner. It's amazing on...

    Re: Dealer Shenanigans

They tried to add that kind of stuff to my CRV I bought last year. I just told them to take it off.

Have your daughter return on Saturday night about an hour before closing, they are so much more...

Re: Megs #9 swirl remover 2.0

Part polish, part filler. It's really an old school product that is great on old cars. Like d single stage black.

    Re: zaino vrs pinnacle souveran.

For durability, Zaino wins easily. If you factor in protection, it's a tough call.

But both are old school (over 20 years) and there are much better products now.

    Re: The Best Product Ever!?

Collinite 845. Easy to use, extremely durable, looks great and protects very well.

    Re: Color Mismatch

Dealers never use the best shop, just cheapest or best kickback. Good shops don't work with most dealerships and some don't even take insurance jobs.

Poll: Re: AAA, renew yea or nea ?

Yep, I pay the same with State farm. And I pick which car I want it on.

    Re: First time snorkeling

They really do leave you alone. I was that close to bigger sharks at Sombrero reef. They are everywhere in the ocean. If you ever get a chance to paddle board in the ocean, you'll get an amazing...

The funny part is you are more likely to be struck by lightning than eaten by a big fish.

    Re: First time snorkeling

Are you going on a guided tour? If so, just use their stuff, possibly just buy a cheaper snorkel if you don't want to catch any nasties. Most snorkeling equipment ends up at the bottom of a drawer.

Re: What do for this scratch on new truck??

New paint is wayyyy too thin to risk wet sanding when stuff like Langka and Dr Colorchip exist. There is even a youtube on how to make your own Langka.
  14. Re: ATTN Dent Repair Business Owners. How can I hire dent repair employees or find business partners?

For starters reaching out to them and telling them you want to get them more money than they are currently earning would be a good start.

If I was good at PDR, why on earth would I want to hang...

Re: Quickjacks are a game changer!

I was ready to pull the trigger on the Costco deal but I need the longer version as my cars jack points are too far apart.
  16. Re: Optimum Opti-Bond still a relevant tire dressing?

I get pretty good durability out of 253 as well. And it seems to build up over time. I've also had great luck with AA Extreme Gel. Both make it through a couple of drives in the rain. Optibond...
  17. Re: Optimum Opti-Bond still a relevant tire dressing?

Not sure it was a favorite, more of another product that got on the hype train. The best was the silly spray gun when a simple tire swipe was less work.

I tried hard to like the stuff, and at the...

Re: What is a good product to fill swirls?

Klasse Sealant Glaze works well for minor swirls and has a layering effect. Works even better at at 1:3 ratio with water. I documented it with pictures on Autopia about 10 years ago. Takes about 3...
  19. Re: How best to negotiate with dealer for new car price ?

Congrats. Nissan always has crazy deals. We got out leaf for $11k off plus the federal rebate of $7500... And zero percent financing. Feels funny to buy a new car for more than half off.

Re: Which do you prefer: iOS or Android?

I went from BB to Windows Mobile to Android (way back when) to iPhone 4 and 4s and back to Android after the jailbreaks became a big hassle.

So glad I did. iOS is like a kids toy. Can't anything...

    Re: Longest lasting AIO?

Good is relative. It cuts well for an AIO. And yes both melt into the paint. Only a quick buff required.

    Re: Hand polishing advice

You can walk coast to coast too, but why. Machines are so cheap now it's crazy to try by hand.
  24. Re: How best to negotiate with dealer for new car price ?

Great advice on European, terrible for Honda and Toyota. I can buy those cheaper new than a 2-3 year old one with average mileage.
  25. Re: How best to negotiate with dealer for new car price ?

I've bought over 50 cars, most of those for myself, some for friends.

Start shopping mid month. Preferably on a slow month like January or February. Work with at least 3 dealers. Don't be afraid...
