    Detailer's Business Journey

Re: New CG "Clean Slate" wax/sealant stripping soap

Easiest way to remove old wax or sealant, polish it off. Removing polishing oils is a ton easier than removing wax or sealant.
  4. Re: Will rinseless washing more than 1-2x a week cause too much damage?

I usually use 2-4 towels per wash depending on size of vehicle.
  5. Re: Spammers? Why? Are these people the lowest common denominator in the population of the world?

I guess you are not interested in a "weird" trick to save 50% on your car insurance then!!
  6. Re: Will rinseless washing more than 1-2x a week cause too much damage?

You guys have an interesting way of over complicating a very simple process.

Grit guard, 3 gallons of water.
    1.5 oz rinseless wash
    Microfiber wash mitt
Wash section, drop mitt back in bucket...

    Re: most economical iron remover?

I've used both the 3D and the carpro. I think the Carpro is slightly stronger (and I do mean SLIGHTLY).

That being said, I use the 3D. The price point is right and it still works great.

Re: For you 3D fans. HD Adapt has been discontinued

Winner winner, HD Adapt dinner. After I'm done with this bad boy I guess it will be all Cut+ and Optimum Hyper Polish from here forward.

Re: For you 3D fans. HD Adapt has been discontinued

David, is the AAT compound significantly different than the Polish in how it works? I have the AAT Polish and prefer Adapt and Polish to it hands down. AAT does not seem to finish near as well, and...

Re: For you 3D fans. HD Adapt has been discontinued

Cut+ finishes slightly better and dusts less than the previous Cut, but still finishes nowhere near as close to Adapt.

Re: For you 3D fans. HD Adapt has been discontinued

The difference is I can get HD products for $60/gallon wholesale, whereas other lines are much, much more expensive and the difference between them does not make the price point worth it to me.
  12. Re: What could I have done different, I am very angry over a customer issue.....

Lesson learned. The only time I have EVER been burned on details is when I offered some sort of discount.

Re: For you 3D fans. HD Adapt has been discontinued

This is true. It will take me a while to use a whole gallon but once it is gone I will be switching from HD/3D unless they replace Adapt. Sick of them coming out with great products and removing them...

  16. Re: What are your rates for your services? mobile or shop?

Nonsense, why does Starbucks charge $3.25 for a $.99 cent cup of coffee? Perceived value. Your value to your clients is what they perceive it to be, even if the difference between you and your...

    Re: Contract with Dealers?

If you are doing 5-7 cars a week why on earth don't you have insurance?? You are just as liable for personally owned vehicles as you are commercially owned!
  19. Re: Are Rupes polishers tough or easy to get broken?

My 15 has been through the mill, probably polished over 500 vehicles in all types of crazy environments. Looking a little rough but runs great. My Mark II is on the way to my house from Florida as we...

Re: A polish like HD Speed?

I have probably used a gallon or more of both speed and polish, polish cuts better. Adapt and Cut were not even out when Speed was released, and to my knowledge the formulation has not changed.
