Re: Most regretted detailing product purchase

Aquapel. Although it has incredible performance, I’ve never used a product that requires so much attention to apply correctly. It’s simply not worth the effort, especially if you’re in a production...

    Most regretted detailing product purchase

CG has a ton of soap variations. Like everything else they produce, there's TONS of overlap and waste in their product lines. There's a couple things that aren't too bad, but when 95% of it is...

Re: Lake Country Force Pads at AG?

Agree. Got to try the Force pad out today. So many improvements over the Hybrid pads. It's a very clear upgrade, IMO. Why AG doesn't sell them just makes no sense to me.

Re: Lake Country Force Pads at AG?

The thing is they work fine on any DA, forced-rotation or not, and and any rotary which have all been widely available forever. So it just doesn't make sense why AG isn't carrying them.

    Re: 3D/HD Compounds/Polishes clarification

I have. My biggest problem is I've read countless things about M100, M101, and M105 and there's nothing consistent about that info. I don't like using something unless I have a good idea about the...

    Re: 3D/HD Compounds/Polishes clarification

Excellent, guys! I have gotten wildly misleading information on these products when they've been compared and this seems to set the record straight with me.

I was wondering because I'm currently...

    Re: 3D/HD Compounds/Polishes clarification

I don't think anyone answered this guy's original question, which I'm also interested in hearing. What's the difference between HD Cut+/Polish+, 3D Ultra Compound/Polish, and AAT Rubbing...
  9. Re: 3D AAT 502 Finishing Polish Replaces HD Adapt as the Ultimate 1 Step!!

I'm guessing it might be the abrasives, but I'm simply not finding enough info on their site to determine that.
  10. Re: 3D AAT 502 Finishing Polish Replaces HD Adapt as the Ultimate 1 Step!!

I'm slightly confused. It's being called a one-step finishing polish. It's the "one-step" that's throwing me off. It takes the place of HD Adapt which was a dedicated polish, so is this a dedicated...

Re: How to use a foam gun by Mike Phillips

Such a good write up. I enjoy reading these so much. I'm interested, but I have one concern. It seems like there is a cost to this process and that's product. Much more product. At least five times...

Re: Looking to upgrade from a Porter Cable

Flex 3401 and keep your PC to convert it for 3" pads.
  13. Re: boars hair car washing brush vs microfiber mitt

I dismissed boars hair brushes for a very long time, but for some reason picked one up from AG earlier this year to help clean the roofs on larger vehicles. I've now transitioned to using it on the...

    Re: HD Speed Topping Question

I don't even top HD Speed. It is an AIO after all. What I do instead is just throw a nice spray wax on to boost it on every maintenance wash every two weeks. Either D156 or AquaWax. I have some HD...

    Re: Alternative "clay" products

Using the mantra of "always use the least aggressive product", it's just something that you'd need to test. Yes, more neglected cars with more bonded contaminants may need the medium over the light....

Re: Wheel Cleaner - Looking for Recommendation

3D BDX is amazing for chemical decon. It's not mentioned nearly enough, IMO.
  17. Re: Honda S2000 oxidation and swirl removal with Rupes UHS

Very nice. I'm trying to pull my '05 S2k out of hibernation right now. Have a couple of mechanical issues to deal with first before I even think about paint correction yet.
  18. Re: Flex xc 3401 (can it replace these 3 polishers)

The 3401 is my main polisher, but I still pull out my PC every once in a while as it's set up for only 3" pads now. Whenever Flex jumps on making a mini-3401 for 2-3" pads, the PC will get retired.

    Re: Wolgang Uber Rinseless

Wolfgang Uber Rinseless is really that good. The best rinseless/waterless solution out there without protection for sure.
  21. Re: what's one product that has impressed you (lately)?

The Gloss Shop Trifecta. Did a review for it today on Autopia. Really really impressed me. I'm looking forward to the end of the year when we can recommend new products for AG to carry because this...

Re: You just can't beat the Flex 3401...

I try to always mention a mini 3401 in the 3401 specific threads. You know, just in case Flex is watch. ;)

You just can't beat the Flex 3401...

Love the 3401. The long throws are nice and all, but they aren't a 3401. Now if only Flex could make a smaller 3401 that accepted 2-3" pads, I'd be in heaven.

Re: Rupes mark ii 15 stalling badly

Or... buy a 3401 and have a machine that's built better, corrects faster, and won't ever bog down no matter what the circumstance.
