  1. Re: FLEX PE14-2-150 for heavy polishing without overheating?

Thanks, I was looking at the stats on both polishers. And it says that they both have the same amount of wattage imput and output. Does one have a better motor?
  2. Re: FLEX PE14-2-150 for heavy polishing without overheating?

Mostly boats. I like the Flex L3403 vrg because of it's light weight. However it was not made to be man handled with 8" pads. It has been overheating and clicking on and off. Now I am probably going...
  3. FLEX PE14-2-150 for heavy polishing without overheating?

I own a Flex L3403 VRG and am dissapointed with it. It overheats and starts making clicking sound that kicks the machine on and off. And I know this is due to the pressure I use on it and probably...

  5. Re: Stored gas containers causing mold on inside of Detail Van?

So I should start buying ethanol free gas then and the problem will go away?
  6. Stored gas containers causing mold on inside of Detail Van?

I'm getting these black spots on the inside of my van that look like mold, and I am 99% sure it's from the stored gasoline I use. Because whenever I clean the inside of a gas door just about everyone...

    Re: Review: Optimum GPS

It depends on what your goal is, I personally would not use this product for correction, since it is also a glaze. This is more of a product for someone who doesn't want to spend a lot of time...

Re: Extension Cord Gauge For Griots 6" ROP

I used to run 100 foot 16 gauge on my extractor, and one day I went to shampoo a customers carpets, and smoke started shooting out of the bottom of the extractor, then it caught on fire and all the...

    Re: Cards Disappearing

This is because not everyone you hand a card out to is going to call you. You might get 1 out of 20 people, you might get 1 out of 50 people, you might just get 1 out of the whole box of cards you...
  10. To those of you who have put the 5" backing plate mod on your Rupes 21....

How do you like it? I have recently purchased the MK II 21, and noticed there is some slowing down whenever I get to a curved area. Would having a 5" backing plate with 6 inch pads give it more power...
  11. My experience with customer service at Durrmaid...

Just recently I had a problem with my extractor which I came to find out was my fault. I was running the Durrmaid 1600 with a very thin extension cord and come to find out, this was not a good idea....

    Re: Is Iron-X really necessary?

You can also use Muriatic acid on your towels to help dissolve the imbedded contaminants stuck in them.
  14. Re: Does anyone know how to get compound out of etched bugs???

Thanks for the replies everyone, sometimes after you have worked 8 hours on a car it's hard to think straight. Now I can go back with a little more confidence and make the job right, thanks for the...
  15. Re: Does anyone know how to get compound out of etched bugs???

But I already polished it and put a layer of sealant, going back at it with a brush and apc sounds like a bad idea!
  16. Re: Does anyone know how to get compound out of etched bugs???

Have you tried this? This works good?
  17. Re: Does anyone know how to get compound out of etched bugs???

What about a toothpick? Can I just go in there and pick out the edges with a toothpick? I mean the paint is already etched anyway. A toothpick dipped in some mineral spirits should work.
  18. Does anyone know how to get compound out of etched bugs???

I've been having problems with my compound filling in the etched bug marks on the hood of some of the cars, causing them to turn white and look 10x worse than they really are. And I've have very...

    Re: Is Iron-X really necessary?

I think clay should be used before, not after. Most of the iron will be out after clay, and the iron X will do a better job removing whatever is left. That's just me, I use the speedy prep towels so...
  21. Re: Montana Boars Hair brush keeps marring the paint on my cars.

To give you an idea of what a swirl is, it's tiny little scratches in the paint that go in different directions causing an illusion of a swirl. Some can be severe and others can be light. It doesn't...
  22. Re: Montana Boars Hair brush keeps marring the paint on my cars.

No man, I took autogeeks advice very seriously, and thought since they knew what they were talking about, everything was good.

Well everything is not good, what they told me was a joke. The only...
  23. Re: Montana Boars Hair brush keeps marring the paint on my cars.

The triangle brush will still fit in a 5 gallon bucket, you just have to give it a little testostrone driven force lol.

But man, it's very dissapointing to see swirls on my own personal vehicles....
  24. Re: Montana Boars Hair brush keeps marring the paint on my cars.

So you are saying that there are 2 kinds of boars hair brushes? The kind that mars the paint and the kind that doesn't???
Shouldn't all of them NOT mar the paint?

    You would think that 120...
  25. Re: Montana Boars Hair brush keeps marring the paint on my cars.

Yes I'm soaking the brush, when I use it I use medium pressure on the sides. But if that is too much pressure then this brush is worthless, because it would just be gliding over the dirt
