  1. Re: Durability Test : Meguairs ultimate liquid wax

I used it. It was fine. Not quite as shiny nor quite as durable as the better products sold here. Good enough.
There's something to be said for heading down to Autozone and getting your stuff.
  2. Re: Before I start picking up a DA polisher I have a lot of unanswered questions ...

As the proud owner of a high-dollar Flex polisher---I think they are unnecessary if your car's finish is in good condition.

Clay barring a car isn't that big of a deal. You don't need to...

    Re: Bmw 650

Very good work under extreme circumstances.

PS: I wonder who thought it was a good idea to put bone-white upholstery in a car?

Re: Need a long lasting sealant

Very pleased with the durability of the Collinite pastewax, 476. It's on top of Chemical Guys EZ Creme glaze, if that makes a difference.

In my opinion, there are quite a few durable, quality...

Re: Now, how do I get this stuff off?

After nearly a year and 30+ rinseless washes with Duragloss, it seems a little dull, with a wax buildup.

Re: Now, how do I get this stuff off?

I don't want to use abrasives unless it's necessary to correct scratches

What kind of all purpose cleaner do you guys recommend? First choice is over-the-counter. Second choice is cheap mail...

Now, how do I get this stuff off?

Thanks you you guys I have Collinite paste wax and bi-weekly sessions with Duragloss rinseless on my car, that cling to the finish like a free-climber to the side of El Capitan.

    Now it's...

    Re: Waxing weekly

"Doing it to avoid their family" That's no joke.

I'm of the school that this would be counterproductive. Just as a matter of horse sense, applying considerable rubbing pressure to the paint on...

Re: anyone on here only buy used cars?

Right now, new cars are a better deal, especially when you take into account the lower interest rate you pay on a new car.

What do I look for in a used car? Massive, yet unjustified depreciation.

When is the engine too hot to wash?

I don't want that superfund stuff on my driveway. I want to go to the coin op and do it. [I'm not planning on "detailing" my engine. Merely clean it a bit and put some protectant on the hoses]. ...

    Re: Fighting Losing Battle

Of course it's a losing battle. If nothing else, your car will eventually get in a scrape and that will be that. Entropy always wins.

Several years ago, I noticed a very attractive, dark haired...

Very astute. Comments here are too. May I chime in? Know your limitations. Trust me: you don't want me to bleed your brakes unless you are trying to kill your wife. The older I get the less...

    Re: My first rinseless wash!

I dunno. I just pour my leftover solution into the washing machine with the dirty towels. I figure the stuff is formulated to attack the dirt that on cars. Plus its already on the dirty towels so...

    Re: Best radar detectors.

I learned a long time ago that limiting your pit stops is the key to rapid travel. Its pretty hard to make up that extra 5 minutes you spent at the gas station.

    Anyway, don't forget the "Waze"...
  15. Re: is there salt removal chemical for winter cleaning?

Salt is pretty inert. So anything calling itself salt neutralizer or some similar name is presumptively nonsense.

That said, people with boats really like "Salt Away" It's some fairly common...

    Re: My first rinseless wash!

Yeah. Its nice to be able to do this in your garage. I'd be a little self-conscious if I were doing this outside every week. Also, you can wash at night and in inclement weather (within reason). ...

Re: Maintanence wash vs. full wash, How often

I do the full monty whenever I properly wax my car--three times per year. Is it really necessary? Probably not. Just a way of being thorough given that I am going to put a mechanical dual action...

    Re: Spray sealants?

Mine too. Aquawax as much as I like it, isn't particularly durable and isn't marketed as such.

Really though, why is a non-spray wax so much more durable than a spray wax? Perhaps a...

Re: My new car in just a few days....

Well, the obvious. Don't let them "detail" it for you before they deliver.....

I can see why its coming from Arizona. A dark car just isn't that appetizing when its 110 degrees outside.

  24. Re: Towels from Rinseless Wash - What MF cleaner do you use?

Regular detergent. mf-only wash, of course. I add whatever solution is left over from the bucket (the "clean" soution) to the mix. I figure it can't hurt and its formulated to get the dirt found...

    Re: It's a "Wrap"

Keeping the decals nice looking over the long haul will be a challenge. Something to consider. Those are kind of interesting cars. They have big fat warranties, compared to the competition.
