  1. Re: Optimum Giveaway! Chance to win Carpet & Fabric Cleaner & Protectant...

I love Optimum Power Clean and their leather protectant. I have Optimum Car Wash and No Rinse on the way and am sure I will be pleased with them as well.

    Re: Good caliper cleaner?

Blasting and Brembo brakes shouldn't be even remotely comparable. For basic single coat jobs I clean, outgas, blast and coat calipers for $200 give or take.

In my area blasting four calipers...

    Re: Good caliper cleaner?

Besides a strong degreaser and Iron-X you are probably looking at blasting or recoating. Either of which will require disassembly for obvious reasons. I do a lot of calipers for my powder coating...

Re: Why does my new Civic scratch so easy??

They can be easily removed. In my experience (Owned 4) Hondas have notoriously soft paint.

Re: 09 R35 GTR Stealth Bomber

Got it. I have actually never actually came across any tar. Just stuck on tire bits. :)

Here is what 3M recommends for their wraps:

Soften difficult contaminants such as bug splatter, bird...

Re: 09 R35 GTR Stealth Bomber

I was told directly by CarPro (Iron-X Manufacturer) that Iron-X only reacts with iron particles and its solvent free base is save for vinyl.

Re: 09 R35 GTR Stealth Bomber

I have used Iron-X & Tar-X with great success. Spray it on, let it dwell for a few minutes and then rinse off. A little goes a long way and can also be reapplied if needed in trouble spots.

Working with vinyl can be rough, been there a few times. Brilliant finish and result!

    Re: Incredibly Cheap Finds

Northern Tool by me was sold out of Show Car Glaze, I did buy a 10pc Microfiber kit for $3.99 though. Cheap cloths, but could be good for random jobs.

Did pick up a gallon of the Griot's Spray On...

I would love to go to a detail fest, but sadly haven't been to one. That said coverage has been good. I think a live stream would be a cool idea.

    Re: Wally World stepping up.....

The clay change has been around for a while. It also does a great job of rendering the clay refill kit that Meguiar's also sells obsolete, since the new kit is a better value.
