    Re: Are these buffer/polishers a no-no?

When I see these, I'm obligated to post this:

  2. Re: Who Uses a California Car Duster ? Are they safe ?

I put California Duster in the Lexol Leather product category--completely useless. Unless you have hard paint, the California Duster will scratch it on anything more than super light dust. I'm...

Re: Car wash soaps will not make suds

Suds and bubbles look nice, but that does not equate to a good soap or one that cleans well.

    Re: Issues with CarPro Ech2o

I can tell you that the majority of professionals and detailing enthusiast will disagree with you. Carpro is absolutely one of the better brands in the industry. What products have you used from...
  5. Re: Review: FLEX XFE 7-12 80 aka The FLEX 3" 12mm Long Stroke Orbital Mini Polisher

Can't wait for a comparison with Rupes 75E. Size, power when unit is tilted on tight areas, and also how the side on/off switch feels. I have a few grinders with side switches and prefer the top...

Re: How much is to much coatings?

The wipe on paint coatings are great on paint, but suck on brake calipers. I rather us a 2K High Temp Clear Coat on brake calipers.
  7. Re: Best Product to remove Super Sticky Sticker Residue?

Great choices from custmsprty. Also wanted to add Gtechnic Panel Wipe along with Prep-All, paint safe and work extremely well on stick residue.

Re: MarkII backing plate not coming off

It is very tight from factory. Make sure allen key is all the way in, use a hammer to gently tap it loose. Or if you have a allen socket, use it with a long ratchet for more leverage.

Re: Adam West aka Batman - Rest in Peace

Adam and Burt were the best Batman and Robin. Linda Carter as Wonder Women and Lee Majors as The Six Million Dollar Man, together these 3 shows molded my childhood, especially Batman and Robin. ...

    Re: Often overlooked details, Detailed!

I polish my tire valve caps with the Rupes Pico using a 2mm rubber pad. Then apply 2 coats of Dlux. Works great!

Re: Issues with Rupes mk2 - 15mm and buffer trail

Pads melt or fail because of:
    1. Using 1-2 pads for entire car. Should be using a minimum of 4. I use 6 or more sometimes.
    2. Over saturated pad. Pad gets heavy and grabby and more likely to...
  12. Re: What would you do if this was your daughter? The PAIN of ALL AGO Members!!

Crayons and paper are great, but if they are in the garage......the key is to listen for silence. When you don't hear them talking or asking, "what's this for?"....it's trouble!

    Re: Alternatives to Meguiars QID

Meguiar's scent department is usually top notch! But, the gallon has heavy toxic vinegar smell. Reminds me of the old DP interior cleaner that smelled like vinegar with a hint of banana.

    To burn...

    Re: CarPro DLUX recoating question

I'm big fan of coating on paint, but will not ever use it again on a car dash. When the coating on dash fails or gets old, there's no way to simply polishes it off. You have to be gentle with many...
  16. Re: Meguiar's D114 Rinsefree Express Wash Is Discontinued

Hard for me to believe that D114 was selling slower than ALL the other gallons of Meguair products. Perhaps the profit margins were lower, perhaps there's some funky chemical that's not...

Re: Looking for a used car, confused by Carfax

Trusting Carfax is like trusting Bernie Maddoff with your money. Carfax is garbage. There are tons of cars that should be salvaged or have major water damage that is never reported. The folks that...

    Re: need a paint gauge

600 grit on factory Honda paint is not a idea. Way too risky! Even if successful, you've taken off more than the manufacture recommends; thereby voiding the paint warranty. On most factory...

Re: Rupes Pad - prime or not

Rupes actually designs and builds their tools. They are a tool manufacture which is more than I can say about any other brands of big throw polishers. In Rupes and Todd I trust.

    Re: Mark II 15

First batch of MKI have the rounder dime size hole and will not fit the newer Rupes. Later generation of MKI have the identical hole as the current MKII.
  22. Re: Rupes LHR 15 Mark II: What is the best cutting MF pad?

You mentioned Jet black 335i and Black TSX. Both those cars won't need MF pads, unless they are in bad shape. You will get plenty of correction from foam. MF with certain compounds will haze the...

Re: Best Pads for Large Throw Polishers?

All the pads made for big throw work great. Rupes, Meg thin disc, BnS , and LC. The Rupe pads are still my favorite. The Rupes yellow pad just works so well with so many compounds and polishes. ...

Re: Just received my BOSS G10 (wrong BP?)

Wow! Definitely the wrong BP. If you have a PC style threaded BP, it could work. So long as it clears and spins freely.
