    Re: Flu Shot?

@flash sorry didn’t see mine would be post 81 and flip to a new page. In case it wasn’t clear, yes I got my first flu shot, no, I don’t think it should be mandatory, but I also wouldn’t protest if it...

    Re: Flu Shot?

Flu? No. But I’m also not against the idea, and I’d get it if my employer or workplace (distinct entities) required it. I did need the Covid shots to keep working, and I was glad for that.

Re: What did you do today non-detailing related?

Lol I went to see Roger Waters back in 83 or 84, it was the first concert I’d been to that the face value on good seats was over 20 bucks! $21, plus $5 to a friend’s scalper mom for third row on the...

Re: What did you do today non-detailing related?

It’s taken me years to wean my wife off of well-done steak, but maybe that’s because she grew up in a family that was careful with money and they never bought Prime cuts. I never don’t buy Prime (or...

    Re: Flu Shot?

Got my first flu shot last month (not counting the mass H1N1 vax campaign in 2009), the quadrivalent jab that’s being hailed as the most effective seasonal vax in decades. Got it at the same time as...

Re: New Rag co. Liquid8r drying towels

I still have huge stacks of TRC Eagle edgeless MFs and not only are they still fantastic after ten years, I have yet to find anything that comes close in price/performance among polishing or buffing...
  7. Re: What supplies can be left in the garage in winter?

My garage doesn’t tend to go below 50° in the winter and everything stays in there with no issues, but I shovelled a path to the shed yesterday to go put something in it, and I found that I had...

Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

The one-shoulder trick is the only way this works for me! The 16 inches we’ve received so far since Thursday night is wet and heavy, though. A good brush or snow joe broom is the only thing that’ll...

Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Lol yeah. We got heavy stuff here today, but luckily both cars are indoors! But the problem with using my backpack blower is that it doesn’t flex enough to really do the roof properly so even on a...

Re: What did you do today non-detailing related?

First big snow (8-14”) of the season forecast for tonight so I scrambled to clean out all the siht from my side that had been accumulating over the last few years as my old sihtboxes kept getting...
  12. Re: what floor jack and jack stands is everyone using?

HF Daytona SnapOn-knockoff 3-ton low profile jack and HF Esco/Schwaben-knockoff stands, and recently got a QuickJack 5000TL on sale. I also ordered 3x4x6 rubber Rotary lift blocks for the QJ from...

Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

UGH. Not really detailing related, but today I went to this city’s BMW authorized collision centre to start the claim process for what I can only call a hit-and-run. I honestly can’t say when it...

Yes I believe so, but I get them when I order other CarPro stuff from Corey, a 10-pack for like $25 or so.

Re: WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE HEAVY WEIGHT?

100% this. I’m not saying I haven’t fallen for new product hype and natural curiosity, just like upgraditis. But I’ve spent what seems like weeks trying to declutter my garage, basement, and shed,...
  17. Re: Paint marker residue on windshield will not come up.

Ceriglass with CarPro glass pads on a PC? That gets out everything but deep nicks and scratches.

    Re: Terrycloth on glass

    I’ll be the outlier then.

I’ve almost never been more pleased with a (relatively) cheap product than I am with Corey’s “Streak Free Fast Glass Cleaning Cloths.” I buy the big pack and moisten them...
  21. Re: I'm DUMBFOUNDED! A FLEX 3401 vs. Rupes LH19 Rotary.

“Huh. This compound is gray, but the bonnet is almost the same color as the car. How’d that happen!?”
  22. Re: I'm DUMBFOUNDED! A FLEX 3401 vs. Rupes LH19 Rotary.

    It me!

    [only maybe a decade earlier]

I also punished many a paint job (and my upper body) with a B&D “Professional” 12-inch “orbital” wobbler and wool and terry bonnets in the 80s.

Re: DEBRIS when -blow drying- car

It depends on the situation, but if I’m going all out I use an Air Wand attached to my Shop•Vac’s blower, and while it’s a bit unwieldy it really does work well. Then I use a rubber tipped Prevost...

    Re: Rubber door seals?

I also swear by Gummipflege, and use it on all rubber (other than tires), inside and out. I’ll coat harder black trim with Dlux or Trim or C4, but any soft rubber just gets Gummipflege any time I’m...

    Re: My Christmas Scare

Perhaps not coincidental, but I was wondering exactly this when Bob’s name was invoked this weekend.
