Re: Paint defects - trying to figure them out

Mike, HUGE thank you for the pics you posted. Unfortunately, that is EXACTLY what these trouble spots of paint look like.

Paint defects - trying to figure them out

A friend has a '99 Mercedes C43 AMG with silver paint. I've detailed it a couple times, each time noticing a few areas of straight lines that look like scratches. They polish out, and then come back...

Re: 71 HEMI Cuda Convertible 4 speed

I had the chance to see the car in person on Friday. Pretty cool, but the paint needed to be polished! I think my Dad took a pic of me standing in front of it.

I was kind of, but not really,...

Re: ONR w/carnauba as a waterless wash?

Thanks to all for the feedback. I think I'm gonna try it out at double the QD strength and see how it works out for me.

ONR w/carnauba as a waterless wash?

I tried searching around for an answer, but have only seen ONR as okay to be used as a QD. Is there a dilution ratio people are using as a waterless wash?

I've been using UWWP+ for my waterless...
  6. Re: Foam Gun Showdown, possibility: Autogeek vs MTM Hydro

Mine is the same, but I wouldn't say only 20% in the middle of the pattern. It is noticeable enough, however, that more comes out at the top and bottom of the spray pattern.

    However, having said...

Re: Why doesn't everyone use Opti Coat?

Exactly what I did on my car after having the hood re-sprayed and I have had fantastic results at keeping swirls away from the soft paint.

Opticoat is a fantastic product, but for my personal car...
  8. Re: Interested in feedback on Griots Garage Product.

They have some good products, but I think most of it is run of the mill stuff compared to other options at the same prices. Their microfiber drying towel and spray wax are two products I still use,...

    Re: Question on Coating Wheels?

I have similar style wheels except they are painted, and on a daily driven car. I put OC 2.0 on two of the wheels for a comparison as far as ease of clean-up and whatnot.

    After about 3 months of...

    Re: Don't like rinseless wash.

Rinseless washes are awesome when it's cold outside. I personally like the Meguiars rinseless over any other that I've used. The cleaning power is incredible and the wash media does not get stained...

Haven't posted for a while, just been lurking, but I have to say that I had a huge grin on my face the entire time I was reading through this thread. AWESOME generosity all around! Can't wait to see...

    Re: What wheels for G35?

I personally think the brake setup on those cars is too small to do a wheel with a lot of open space, such as a 5-spoke. I'd go with a mesh-style, or something with more spokes.

    Re: Review Megs D114

D114 has great cleaning power and my favorite part about using it is that your wash media does not end up stained.
  15. Re: CCS Foam Pad from eBay: Fake, Imitation, Counterfeit?

Those look real to me. The pads will flatten out over time from use. Maybe they were already used and not brand new.

Re: I need help Like right NOW! (Opti Coat)

If you have the time and desire it would be easy to go over the specific spots you are seeing with your finishing polish while the product is still relatively fresh. When I put OC on my windows I got...

Is it possible to wash it off still? I know they say not to wash the vehicle for 24 hours.

Re: I need help Like right NOW! (Opti Coat)

I only have experience using Opticoat on 2 vehicles, but one was black and whenever I had high spots it looked just like what your pictures are showing. It's an oily type of sheen. I think if you...

    Re: How 'bout dem Cowboys?

I'm a huge Cowboys fan living in Seattle. A friend and I spent $550 on some nice tickets for the game this past weekend. Total disappointment. The team gave up at halftime.

    I personally think...

Re: FLEX 3401 HD, what ya think?

In my experience, buy the Flex before your Megs unit breaks and leaves you high and dry during a detail.
