    Re: Scratches on front windshield

If those are actual scratches and not transfer marks on top of the glass, you're pretty much SOL. Would not even bother trying to polish them with glass cutting pads and cerium oxide. Such a messy...

Re: Correcting Door cup area (not by hand)?

I was looking at something like this:
Nano autotriz polisher kit 3.0 - kit polishing m14-tax free | eBay

Looks like some kind of attachment for a rotary buffer. I just don't know how effective...

Re: Correcting Door cup area (not by hand)?

Yes, we offer door cup PPF at my work and do it a bit here and there, but not everybody wants to pay for that...

I agree, but doing this every day one door cup here, one door cup there....it...

Correcting Door cup area (not by hand)?

What are you guys using to correct door cup areas (area behind door handle)? I usually just do it by hand, but there's gotta be a better way right? The ibrid Rupes polisher is too big for most door...
  5. Re: Swap out backing plates or get multiple polishers?

Buy one machine and various size backing plates. Would be a big waste of money to buy alot of machines for just a couple family vehicles.

Re: Struggling to bring in business

    Sorry about your daughter.

Maybe look at becoming an authorized coating installer? A lot of them are really not that hard to apply and it will put your name on the map and give you more...

    Re: Several Detailing Questions :)

Do NOT try wetsanding stuff on your car. You can easily cause irreversible damage. If the scratch is through the clear, no amount of sanding will remove it, just get some touchup paint for those...

  13. Re: Paint polish options that are safe on ceramic coating

Exactly. Why would anyone want to go through that hassle anyways?
  14. Re: Paint polish options that are safe on ceramic coating

I guess every coating AG sells is a bad ceramic coating then....

Re: To 3k sand or not

If you're so experienced with both buffing and sanding, why would you not just try both ways and see which method is saving you time while yielding the required results? Seems pretty simple to me. I...

Re: To 3k sand or not

Don't wetsand anything unless you have experience or at least some type of basic training. You can run into problems very quickly. Practice on a junk panel first before doing a customer car.

Re: ONR on salty cars - Question about drying

Don't even waste your time with doing ONR on a salty car. What a nightmare process that is. You're literally just wiping salt around and not removing it from the areas that really matter and might...

Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

They seriously still have cars and coffee this time of year? After that hell of a week we had with the weather and still salt everywhere? I though people would be storing those nice cars by now.
  21. Re: What are mistakes you have made looking for a detailer? A detailing service?

Just go by their shop and look at their work. That's all I'd need to be convinced. No sense in being a PITA customer and wasting people's time with boring questions "what soap do you use, what clay...

  23. Re: So its getting into the colder weather now, I need to throw on some protection... suggestions?

To answer this point, nobody is "having fun in their driveway" doing ANYTHING during the winter months where I live (Chicago). With Hydr02, I recommended a product that is very quick and easy to use...

You're really open minded to new products aren't you. You can use what you want bud, no need to get upset over other people's opinions and suggestions.
