Re: Throwing away microfiber towels after coating?

I prefer not to re-use any coating cloth for wiping off coating again. Tried that before and while the cloths looks clean, absorbency decline. Perhaps some have good methodology to restore their MF...

    Re: Beginner question about M105

To test whether that spot is a strike through, use a darker color microfiber and rub it with m105. It should help to see better with that paint. No point to keep polishing that spot if the clearcoat...

    Re: Beginner question about M105

I used to use M105 for years then move on to menzerna as find it hard to control. Few years back I started to re-explore m105 and now i loved it alot more than menzerna. My product preference changes...

    Re: The Rotary 101

Nice thread! I agree to a certain extend. However, there are simply too many variable in play such as the compound and pad used which in my opinion are way more important. I have been polishing paint...

Re: Sneak Peek! - New Polisher!

Nice one from Rupes. I am sure it will be a quality machine.

There are actually already quite a number of gear action orbital polisher from Japan since many years back with similar orbit diameter...

Re: Lake Country HDO Foam Pads

Absolutely agree. Although I am not a fan of MF pad as I preferred wool. Having said that, I dont understand the reason of using a black mf in a pad too. Perhaps its raw material limitation or some...

    Re: Makita PO5000C/6000C

Very interesting. The jap also just launch a gear action DA recently. 2.8kg is a little heavy personally for me and I actually wish they reduce the orbit size though for more precision buffing.
  13. Re: Sonax Perfect Finish 4/6 and EX 04/06 the same product ?

Definitely not the same product. Perfect finish has a more 'dry' buffing cycle than ex 04/06. I always read about Perfect Finish being market for rotary and 04/06 for DA but I actually find perfect...
  14. Re: Does the new layer of wax last longer if old wax is stripped off first?

Another factor to consider is the type of wax you are using. Those with stronger cleaning content such as those label as cleaner wax wouldnt matter as much since you will be cleaning and protecting...
  15. Re: SEMA 2016 Video: Griot's Garage Polisher, Pads and Products

Finally a 3 inch pad with the BOSS design- center hole and tapered edge. Simple yet practical. A 5mm-7mm foam interface imo for the microfiber will be a better balance between power and maneuvering...

  17. Re: What to use to remove built up polish in seams and jambs?

Agreed with Eldorado2k. Unless the APC is very caustic or is specifically formulated to remove caked up polish, else most of the time compounds will do a better job than APC. With APC, sometimes the...
  18. Re: From what I've read - Meg's APC on leather = bad?

Both are good products in my eyes. I have been a long time user of Meg APC and Meg leather cleaner and of course many others. When it comes to thorough cleaning of leather, I picked meg leather...

Cant help with LC hybrid and OPT polishing pad as I dont use them side by side.

Some thoughts though on MF and foam. I seriously doubt it will be easy to do a clear comparison of cut between foam...

    Re: Scholl products

I tried s0, s3 xxl, s20 black and the spider pad.

s0 is an interesting one- extremely gritty and after polish you can feel the grittiness on the paint- almost like sanding.

    S3 XXL is good and...
  22. Re: What factors affect the finishing quality of paint?

First off probably is the quality of the compound. The finer the abrasive, the lesser the cut, but the flatter the paint surface one can potentially achieved. How the compound is being rub into the...

    Re: Headlight Restoration

Yes, the lower the grit, the lesser the jump. You can sand till as fine as you want, but as long as you not removing the 400 sanding mark completely, it is there to stay. 400 to 600 is really tight...

    Re: Headlight Restoration

400 to 800gr is too big of a leap in my opinion. I too faced difficulty removing sanding mark completely usually with lower grit from 320 onward. 1000grit onward is easy to remove and not as...
