Ok, go to Home depot and get yourself 8 dual halogen tripods (44.57 each) you get plenty of heat and lots of light, lol. Just kidding, but I do love this halogen. Good luck with your hunt for heat.
I had this same situation, use caution, and do a test spot on the side with whatever you choose. I did this with one of the "plastic polishes" and it took the silver finish right off. Thank goodness...

I am definitely not a pro but do have a 2005 black Vette, used Megs microfiber correction system with tons of success. Had to put my 2 cents in. Have much respect for all that responded.
I keep mine plugged in the garage, where I do my detailing. Stays charged through an entire day, as long as I keep it plugged in between using. Hope this helps
Had this happen to a motorcycle once...if sap has not been on for too long cold cold water will take it off. Use a microfiber and give it a try.good luck
