  1. wheel stain removal - splotchy milk like stains

    Hello,

I have a 4th gen fbody and I am thinking about picking up a set of C5 thin spokes off a facebook market place seller. They are cheap, likely for this reason.. From my research this is...

    Re: cracking paint?

Having the paint fall off was my primary concern. It passes the 3ft distance without issue though!

As for whether its single stage or base clear, Im not sure. I have not polished/compounded it due...

    cracking paint?

Hi guys, its many many years since I was last present on here. I have a 93 firebird formula that was resprayed in 2002-2003. Prior owner garage kept it, I bought it two years ago and it lives...
  4. Re: couldnt afford to repaint, so i decided to replace. I AM SO STOKED!!!!!

Next on the agenda is scratch filling. Going to buy some touch up paint and see if I can fill in the scratches. The one I want to fill the most are some I made when mounting the fender. Thought I was...
  5. Re: couldnt afford to repaint, so i decided to replace. I AM SO STOKED!!!!!

Yep. 8 bolts in all. 5 of which were in the engine bay. One I could see with the door open and the other one I had to pull the bumper off slighty and the final one( and the most annoying) was hidden...
  6. couldnt afford to repaint, so i decided to replace. I AM SO STOKED!!!!!

Hey guys, I just had to share this with you all because you are the only folks I know who will truly appreciate this.

So the paint on my fender started to delaminate I about 4 years ago. It only...
  7. Re: discount tire crossed threaded a lug nut errghh

Went well, no issues at all. Just referenced a few guides on a Nissan forum. Only challenge I ran into was figuring out which way the pad goes in relation to the wear marker.

    Both wear markers...
  8. Re: discount tire crossed threaded a lug nut errghh

Got my car back. It was indeed cross thread. They said they use their impact gun full power to break it off. I had no idea, but I guess each stud can be removed individually? He said they hammered...
  9. Re: discount tire crossed threaded a lug nut errghh

It makes sense, and if you watch those guys, they are always moving so quickly. The tech probably fired them one pretending to be a pit crew or something and just jammed the lug nut up to the stud...
  10. Re: discount tire crossed threaded a lug nut errghh

Okay, just got off the phone and they were very nice. I told the manager on duty what happened and the timelines and he gave me the number of a shop I have dealt with before(re-assuring as I know...
  11. discount tire crossed threaded a lug nut errghh

Some of you may remember my previous thread where I asked for advice and purchased new rotors, pads, and brake fluid.

Well I finally got the job done today. Did a test drive to make sure all was...

    Re: squeeling rear wheel?

Got my parts today in the mail. I hope 1 liter of fluid is enough, I couldn't find anything specifying total brake fluid capacity. And yes I know I bought dot 4, I did that intentionally.

Haha I got a good laugh out of that one:applause::laughing:

I experienced a similar moment using a miter saw to cut baseboards. Was trying to be extremely precise and kept hitting the inside edge...

    Re: squeeling rear wheel?

Its a 2005 nissan altima 3.5se. I will check out rockauto and see if I can find the rotors and pads cheaper.

I will also consider everything else you mentioned. :xyxthumbs:

    Re: squeeling rear wheel?

Thanks for the clarification setec and brett.

I can get OEM pads from courtesy parts for about 60 which isn't bad at all. No idea what shipping will cost.

I guess my main concern is noise. I...

So far the noise is gone. And I cannot hear what they were hearing with the fronts. They told me I was likely hearing the front wear markers but I hear nothing from the front at all.

    I am...

    Re: squeeling rear wheel?

Got my car back and I am even more confused now.

They took it in, pulled out the bolt I snapped, and drove it around and they told me they weren't really able to hear what I was describing. I...

    Re: squeeling rear wheel?

Just to get a better view. Not necessarily take it off, just take out one bolt and loosen the other so I could rotate it off rotor. I am aware of the peep hole and I could see the pad, but since it...
