    Re: Gtechniq C4 issues.

the buff bit is critical. correctly applied the coating becomes part of the structure of the top layer of your trim - no matter how much it flexes you will get no "crazing". but leave too much on...

    Re: Gtechniq C4 issues.

c4 is an optically clear coating but the same way ice goes white when there is air under it in a pond, for eg, the same would hold true here. this looks to be that the c4 has either not bonded...

    Re: Gtechniq C4 issues.

not something I have seen over this side of the pond. the only trim we have had a common issue with is on renaults but other than excess product which can turn into a white powder (it's a quartz...

    Re: Gtechniq C4 issues.

by blotchy do you mean there are white marks? if so that is excess product that has crystallised.

to remove you can do this by scrubbing with a medium brush and strong apc solution.

Re: Review: Gtechniq EXO v2 Complete Kit

it seems that the issue is if the exo is applied too long after c1 is applied. we recommend applying the exo between 3 and 12 hours after c1 (this is a window - it doesn't matter if you apply at...

Re: Review: Gtechniq EXO v2 Complete Kit

as above it seems to be an issue around putting exo over c1. of the many hundreds of applications there seems to be a handful that have had this issue. we are running test applications under...

Re: Review: Gtechniq EXO v2 Complete Kit

just to protect naruto19's sanity i thought it would be best for me to jump in here to give my 2cents worth.

first - chris didn't leave Gtechniq for product issues - working for the Gtechniq...

  10. Re: Review w/Video - Gtechniq G1 Clear Vision Smart Glass

first bit is ok but wait 15 mins after application of third coat before buffing with a cotton cloth and the g2 residue remover.

Re: GTechniq C-4 Permanent Trim Restorer

just wanted to put some info in here. it sounds like the op and knightmare have not removed residue after applying. we recommend to clean the substrate very very well, spread the product and...
  13. Re: New Menzerna FG 400 - One-Step Show Car Makeover

Nice job! I do love a Belair - particularly the Nomad.

Hope the customer likes how the EXO works.
  14. Re: Any Major Differences b/t these hybrid coatings?

chris - i have read my posts very carefully. I am not the person coming out with statements such as:

"while nano sealants are merely extended life sealants"

also thickness of film is a red...
  15. Re: Any Major Differences b/t these hybrid coatings?

so by saying "There's no mistake" you are still maintaining that all coatings based on nanotechnology are the same? Because that's the only thing being said here. :dunno:

    would also be very...
  16. Re: Any Major Differences b/t these hybrid coatings?

heh - no offence taken. but am still very surprised that as a fellow manufacturer of high tech coatings that you would make such a howler of a mistake.
  17. Re: Any Major Differences b/t these hybrid coatings?

i have no doubt it can cover the car but, for eg, our C1 Crystal Lacquer ships in 30ml sizes and this will give a film build of around 0.2 um. the opti coat msds indicates between 18-30% resin so...
  18. Re: Any Major Differences b/t these hybrid coatings?

couple of points on this post

first - the term nano is a description of scale. lumping all coatings that are based on nanochemistry together is like saying that because cars have four wheels they...
  19. Re: Any Major Differences b/t these hybrid coatings?

all the products listed use a covalent bond whereby the coating swaps part of it's structure (the hydroxyl group) with that of the paint - see here for details of how it works with C1 - similar thing...
  20. Re: Any Major Differences b/t these hybrid coatings?

and afaik EXO is the only hybrid coating listed. it's a hybrid of the chemically bonding hard inorganic quartz base and an organic top layer that has all the nice function you get from a very...
  21. Re: Any Major Differences b/t these hybrid coatings?

is that you rui? all going quite well. shipping about half our lines now and our new premises will be ready in about 3 weeks. hope to be back to full strength in about 1 month :xyxthumbs:
  22. Re: Any Major Differences b/t these hybrid coatings?

as manufacturer of one of the coatings listed here I want to try not to speak out of turn. Just want to make the point that the reason we say our coatings (c1 and exo) last around 3 years - it's not...

Re: My new car and the ultimate detail

make sure that each layer of c1 is fully cured prior to applying the next layer otherwise it will be very "grabby".

good luck with the prep - cracking car to do it on :xyxthumbs:
