    Re: Garage lighting suggestions

So far so good. And yes it's all plug and play. Just plug them in and you're done.

    Re: Garage lighting suggestions

I got the fixtures from Walmart for about $12 a piece, so about $72 before tax. They still work great, even in the cold weather. I highly recommend them.

    Re: Garage lighting suggestions

Yeah, that's part of the reason I didn't go with the diffusers.
  6. Re: New lighting for garage... feedback welcome please!

You beat me to it! Lots of good stuff in there.

Thanks guys. I'll be ordering some soon along with some OPC. Is the common practice to clean with OPC and then top it off with OPP? Or does OPP do enough cleaning by itself? I suppose OPC might be...

Welcome to the Mazdaspeed3 community! I've got a silver 2010. You're gonna love driving this car.
  10. Optimum Power Protectant smaller quantity?

I'd like to try this OPP stuff, but I'd rather not get a 128 oz. jug. I've heard that the Optimum Leather Protectant is pretty much the same thing. Is this correct and if not, can OPP be purchased in...

Thanks! I need to try that OPP stuff. I've still got some Meguiar's Natural Shine Protectant that I use on the interior plastics. I assume it will be fine to use?
  12. Re: So who read the huge thread on APC on leather cleaning...

Gen 1 or Gen 2? I think the material is cheaper on the Gen 2's. Possibly not even leather.
  13. Re: So who read the huge thread on APC on leather cleaning...

I'm confused about finished leather as well. In fact the "leather" that Mazda claims my seats are on my 2010 Mazdaspeed3 are pretty much vinyl as far as I can tell, and not really leather. I don't...

    Re: WG Leather care combo

I just tried it out last night and the conditioner does smell like leather, although it's not a very strong smell. I wasn't sure if I was using enough of the conditioner. My towel seemed to absorb a...
  15. Re: Best way to take care of a heavy scratch!!!

Like sohail99 said, a spot buff might be enough to satisfy you. Sometimes it's not worth taking off a lot of clear coat to completely remove it, if it's not down to the base coat already. A spot buff...

    Re: WG Leather care combo

It's about a year old, so a cleaning is probably needed.

OP, I'll let you know after I use the stuff tonight what I think. I've had it for a couple weeks now, but haven't taken the time to try it...

    Re: WG Leather care combo

Is the cleaner necessary for newer leather? Is it ok to skip that and use the conditioner only?

    Re: Griot's Wrenches

It really shouldn't bend unless you're trying to bend it. I'd be curious to see if the wrench you bought actually fits behind the backing plate.

BTW, I see you're in Pittsburgh. Go Penguins!

    Re: WG Leather care combo

I haven't yet, but I've heard that it actually smells like leather. Not sure about the greasy feeling. I've got a sample of it, I'll try it out tonight. Hopefully it's not too cold to affect it any.

    Re: Griot's Wrenches

I don't have any problem with the wrench. I'd rather they cut cost with the wrench than the actual machine. It has to be thin anyway in order to fit it behind the backing plate.
  21. Re: Miscible and Immiscible - Wax and Paint Sealant Bonding

neuralfraud, you make a very good point. I think that sometimes we as consumers can fall prey to these "gimmicks" that might help somewhat, but aren't exactly necessary.

    Really it comes down to...

Re: Which work light brand are you using?

Has anybody tried the LED work lights? It doesn't seem like they could provide enough lighting and they're way more expensive, but maybe I'm wrong.

    Thanks Mike! Makes complete sense.
  24. Re: Tip: Frequent car care equals fast and easy car care...

This is where I get confused...even after reading your article on the benefits of using a paint cleaner.

When is a product like Wolfgang PPE or some other paint cleaner needed? From what I read,...
  25. Re: Tip: Frequent car care equals fast and easy car care...

So if I understand correctly Mike, you didn't remove the previous layer of sealant (other than what might have been removed during the claying process)? You just "reapplied" the sealant as you...
