  1. Re: What makes MF get a bit crunchy over time

Wait a minute--you only have 1 MF wash mitt that you have 212 washes on?? What kind of 'Geek are you, I think I have about 212 pieces of wash media that have less than 1 wash on them!
  2. Re: What makes MF get a bit crunchy over time

All that tumbling around breaks the crunch.
  3. Re: What makes MF get a bit crunchy over time

I use mostly MF wash pads like "the bone" so I hear you on the drying since they have a sponge core, but I have a lot of them so I just pile them up (after they've dried out on the grit guard) until...
  4. Re: What makes MF get a bit crunchy over time

Are you saying you machine wash them after use, but don't usually put them in the dryer? Or you DON'T usually machine wash them, and just let them dry after the (car) wash?
  5. Re: Armour Detail Supply Wheel Coating Review

    Fair enough.
  6. Re: Armour Detail Supply Wheel Coating Review

Thanks for doing this review, I'm not sure how seriously to take this part--do you really think you'd throw a (stick-on) weight if it was installed on top of the coating?

Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Now that's cool! I love the "eyelids" on the headlights, looks like it's ready for a Disney movie.

    Re: Dana garage.

Thanks Dana, now I can see you've got that shutoff upstream of a Y connector, nice setup.

Oh, you're not that far away from me if you're in Wilmington, Delaware. I thought you lived in LA. :p

  10. Re: Questions on Gyeon CanCoat Evo and its application

Ok, whatever you are comfortable with, glad you are protecting yourself.
  11. Re: Questions on Gyeon CanCoat Evo and its application

I've had to spec out a few respirators in my day, when you say "ventilation hole" are you talking about an exhalation valve? And if by "hard shell" you mean a respirator with replaceable cartridges,...

    Re: Dana garage.

Wow, Dana, that's a really impressive setup with the pressure washer and air and hose reels. Can I get a better picture of where the water comes through the wall and splits out to the two...

    Re: DIY detail polishers

But it wouldn't be 25mm stroke, and it wouldn't go to 11!

I may have made the part up about the 11.
  14. Re: Gloss black IROC-Z attacked by a rotary..

Yeah, it was always like that, Silly Rabbit, you couldn't show up the 'Vette. It was mentioned in this thread about T/A's, but in another thread we were talking about that GNx with the ceramic turbo...

    Re: DIY detail polishers

I believe Yvan said it goes to 11, the speed dial that is.
  16. Re: Gloss black IROC-Z attacked by a rotary..

I'm waiting for Eric to tell us HIS Z-28 stories.
  17. Re: Gloss black IROC-Z attacked by a rotary..

Yeah, but that's the thing, some other 16 yo had that car before you and beat the crap out of it--that happened to all the Z-28's and Trans Ams. I remember looking into the service area at the...

    Re: DQuartz Go review

oh, sorry, that's the "diamond", not SiC. My slickness comments were going back to the OC 2.0 days which as an SiC coating, felt more like bare paint. However the CarPro SiC blurb says it's "very...

    Re: DQuartz Go review

That's the SiC coating, right? That probably explains the lack of slickness.
  21. Re: Gloss black IROC-Z attacked by a rotary..

No thanks required, I didn't remember an S Type either, and by the mid-to-late-80's they had a T-Type of every model, as I recall. I remember getting to take a long test drive in a LeSabre T-Type,...
  22. Re: Gloss black IROC-Z attacked by a rotary..

S-Type. I'm not sure why I don't remember these early Buick turbos, in my mind it was more in the GN era, but I'm obviously wrong. It's not like I was anti-turbo, I worked with a guy who had a '79...
  23. Re: Gloss black IROC-Z attacked by a rotary..

Yeah, but there was also the GLH, I think they started that with the Omni, Shel did it as a goof, then later they did the Daytona version, because I think that was the same car, anyway. Unless the...
  24. Re: Gloss black IROC-Z attacked by a rotary..

I think I remember that...or am I thinking of the GLH's that 'Ol Shel did for them? For a while I wanted one of those Daytona's, whether it was the IROC or the GLH.
  25. Re: Gloss black IROC-Z attacked by a rotary..

Oh boy, that sounds like trouble. Polishing that IROC must have brought back some memories.
