    Re: Single stage Mustang

Nice. That brings back good memories. I had a 93 GT and a 79 Turbo Cobra. Loved them both. Make that baby beautiful and cherish it for what it is.

    Re: Ziebart Diamond Coat

But it is supposed to be hard as clear coat and provide your car with swirl free finish, blah, blah, blah. What a sham. I wouldn't care so much had they not applied over a poorly prepped vehicle. ...

    Re: Ziebart Diamond Coat

Thank you for that. It sounds like I wont have to go real aggressive. White pad and M205 sounds very do-able. I suppose I will know when I am able to remove the water spots.

    Ziebart Diamond Coat

Long time, no type. I have missed this community. Long story, but, life has kept me out of the garage and off the forums.

The short version: How do I remove Ziebart Diamond Coat?

Re: Just want to clean up single stage paint.

I finalized the deal on the Mustang. It should be ready for me to pick up Thu.

I ordered Meg's #7 with my order. Do you think it is a good idea to use #7 even though the paint isn't really...

Re: Just want to clean up single stage paint.

Thanks Mike. I will review the cleaner waxes Autogeek offers and choose one. I'm sure more questions will arise such as chrome care, etc. I will repost in this thread. I appreciate you being...

Just want to clean up single stage paint.

Hi Mike (and anyone else reading this),

I read through your articles on restoring single stage paint. I am not really looking to restore the paint on this car, I just want to clean it up as best...

    Re: Attempting 1st "detailing"

Honestly, I am a huge fan of Griots Vinyl and Rubber Dressing. It does not seem to be as popular on here, but, I think it rocks. It is my go to Tire dressing, rubber protectant and plastic...

    Re: Attempting 1st "detailing"

Wax after claying is a perfectly acceptable step. Sit back, have a beer and enjoy your hard work.

If you decide you want to take it to the next level or the next level after that, then you can...

    Re: Attempting 1st "detailing"

You are right, I would not try the sander for your car paint. Likewise, don't try the wetsanding suggestion either. That is an advanced technique.

I would take advantage of rms64's offer. ...
  13. Re: Quick Product Review – Covercraft “Noah” after 2 years

Use the mirrors as anchor points. Roll/Fold the cover from front to mirrors, then back to mirrors. Fold up the sides. Then fold it on the windshield as you take it off the mirrors.

    then reverse...

Re: How long is long enough?

I assume you are using this on the yellow Mustang in your avatar? I have polished several Mustangs several times. The pads/polishes I find the most helpful are the Megs DA MF system.

    Meguiars...
  15. Re: Waxes - make sure to dry them to a haze before removing

Glaze/Sealant/Wax. That is likely your problem. Some just dont bond to others. The glaze may not allow the sealant or the wax to bond. The sealant may not allow the wax to bond. Or none of them...

Re: Tools / Product Cost Almost = Cost of Job

You might not make any money, but, you are getting a "free" polisher. And it will last your whole career. It will surely get used again and make money on that one.

Although i second the dewalt or...

Re: New to detailing...did I go overboard

Practicing on the Farm truck will be key. My advice is start with the PC and master it first. Then break out the Flex and master it. Then maybe the rotary.

That way you will learn how to use...

    Re: Canon Rebel T5i

That is a great "walkaround" lens. Useful for most everyday needs including video. For your needs I would recommend the "nifty fifty". It is a 50mm f1.8 lens. Great optics and only about $100....

Re: Autogeek Mustang Roll Call ?

I wish I had had the foresight and cash to buy one in 1979. I am sure it was well before the market for them went haywire. OF course, I was only 13 in 1979 and wouldn't have been in the market for...
