    Re: Facebook Detailing group?

Yea, I got a kick outta that too. Of course people jumped on him, but he's right and I don't see how people couldn't see that.

    Re: Facebook Detailing group?

After seeing this thread I joined the FB group a couple of days ago. Unfortunately, pretty much finding it useless and will likely drop from it.

Re: What did you do today non-detailing related?

Racquetball, usually do that or pickleball 2 or 3 times per week.

Re: Xpel and light correcting polish

My installer said a light polish/AIO would be ok, but definitely move quickly (don't work to break it down) the heat generated would melt the XPEL. I've just avoided polishing it all together.

Around the house, Charlies Soap (and sometimes around the vehicle). Mostly using Amazing Roll-off around the car, camper and boat.

Re: What did Santa Bring your for Detailing.

A $100 gift card, told wifey to wait until I saw them go at 20% off (she was getting impatient since I hadn't given her many other ideas).

Re: Help me talk a friend out of selling cars

I read a pretty long article on Edmunds some time back about this guy that sold cars then wrote the article about it and people were saying it's pretty accurate. Maybe refer your friend to that, and...

Re: What was your very frist car you owned?

LOL, quite a coincidence. Mine was super reliable too, sold it at 100K miles to a co-worker and they pretty much treated it they way you treated yours  That thing was SO underpowered,...
  10. Re: Which cleaner more suitable for wheel, tyres, and wheel wells, Degreaser or All Purpose Cleaner?

This is what I use around the car as my go to APC. Around my house I typically use Charlies Soap.

Re: What was your very frist car you owned?

'76 Datsun B-210. I remember a year's worth of insurance cost me more than the car itself.

Re: What can be done about a fake yelp review?

Brondon: I would suggest if you have the opportunity to edit your reply to clean up the verbiage, do so. The message is good and you kept it very professional, but the misspellings and typos leave a...

Re: What to use after clear bra is applied

I use a sealant on mine. Was told by the installer that carnubas "can" yellow the film. Don't know the truth to that, but I use sealant on the paint anyway, so it just carries over to the film...
  16. Re: Looking some advice on what to do after Pinnacle advanced swirl remover

I first was introduced to/used the Pinnacle twins at one of the training classes at AG. Was very impressed and purchased for my own use, have only used them together with great success so that's the...

Charlie's soap, use it for everything around the house. For around the car (wheels and tires) I'm using Amazing Roll Off pretty much exclusively.

Re: Does Poorboy's Black Hole stain trim?

I used it (actually Pockets applied it) one the year at a detailfest on my silver Mazda6, and it definitely added a depth and pop to the paint without muting the metallic flake. I ended up buying a...
  20. Re: ISC Helicopter Tape/Racer's Tape - good temp surface protection ?

I used this on my mountainbike to protect the pain from the cable housing (brake and shift). This stuff is pretty durable, but I don't know that I'd feel comfortable putting it on my car paint since...

Re: PPF clear bra brand advice

I have Xpel Ultimate on my car, looks great and has held up well (granted it's only a year old). If I had to do it over again I'd do the entire hood to avoid the line entirely instead of the bikini...

Re: Review: Lake Country Wash Wedge

Very different from my experience with the Shmitt, I have one still going strong after at least 5 years (I bought a spare at one of the Detailfests, which is still in the bag) and showing no signs of...
  24. Re: LC Wash Wedge Durability Update - 10 Months Later

I've used mine twice now (not bad but not overly impressed), will try a few more times to see if I stick with it or go back to the Shmitt.

    Re: Foam gun question

I too leave it in the container, but I definitely rinse through the foam gun with fresh water every single time to avoid any issues.
