Re: What pads to use with 3D One Hybrid?

It works especially well with microfiber pads. Most foam pads, too. The only pad I haven't had luck with it is the Rupes Yellow Wool pad(doesn't finish well).

Re: 2017 Kia Forte, hard or soft paint?

I'd go with Meguiars MF cutting pad for sure.
  3. Re: Review: 3D Paint Coating and 3D One Cutting Compound and Finishing Polish

Funny you ask that. I have it in my cart. Never tried it. I heard it's great.

Re: 2017 Kia Forte, hard or soft paint?

For heavy defects, MF pads are by far the best! Nice pics! This paint looks to be on the harder side, as I don't really see micro-marring/haze after you compounded.

    Re: Supa Beast Tackling Scratches

    Nice job!

I've had the Flex 3401 for a long time. For years, I've tried so very hard to love it. About a year ago, I put it up on the shelf and haven't used it since. Polishing is not enjoyable to...
  6. Re: Review: 3D Paint Coating and 3D One Cutting Compound and Finishing Polish

3D One is an outstanding polish! Works well with foam and MF pads. I haven't had good luck with it when using Rupes Yellow Wool.

Re: New model g21 backing plate failure

I still found the polisher to have a lot of vibration. I wonder if the updated BP fixed this?

    3401/pad?/compound?

The Last Cut PLUS(newest version) is awesome! The B&S white wool will remove some nasty defects, but definitely can leave deep micro-marring, depending on the paint. The gray wool can remove heavy...

    Re: 3401/pad?/compound?

B&S white or grey wool and the Last Cut + for heavy defects. Orange hybrid can do work, but it definitely has its limitations.

Re: What coating is tough and hydrophobic?

CQ UK 3.0 is awesome!!! Another good one, but not quite as durable or hydrophobic is Gtechniq CSL. SUPER easy to apply!
  13. Re: Britemax Resto Max Light Polishing Compound

    Their polishes are terrible, IMO.

Not all 15mm are equal. The Rupes III 15 is very capable of removing heavy defects.

Re: Rupes 15 III vs. Gear Driven DA’s

Gear driven is definitely not the best choice for soft paint, especially non metallic soft black. Free spinning is a much better option for finishing.

Rupes 15 III vs. Gear Driven DA’s

Just felt the need to compare these.

On a flat panel, I can get more cut with the 15 III all day, everyday versus anY gear driven DA. I have the Rupes Mille...

  20. Griot's Garage G15/G21 Long-Throw Orbital Polisher *Ground-Up Redesign*

You can’t just go putting on any backing plate. Weight plays an important role. Use the manufacturers backing plate.

  21. Griot's Garage G15/G21 Long-Throw Orbital Polisher *Ground-Up Redesign*

I wonder if this design failure has anything to do with the rough ride?

If they tested it and were not satisfied, why did they release it at all?

  22. Re: NEWS FLASH!!!!! The new FLEX XCE 10-8 125 Corded Polisher is NOW IN STOCK!

I may be the oddball here, but I’ve tried both the Makita and Mille. I still find the 3401 to walk LESS. It’s easier to CONTROL. Maybe I’m just used to the 3401. While the 5mm has less VIBRATION, the...

Rupes LHR 15 Mark III - pad and speed

Rupes recommendation is correcting/polishing at speed 4, generally speaking. You may increase speed on concaves or if the surface is grabby and not allowing proper rotation. Use Rupes pads.
