Re: The (only)upside to removable exhaust tips..

I used a ratcheting spreader in the slip joint, just barely enough pressure to hold on. Really need a bench vise.

The (only)upside to removable exhaust tips..

...is that you can machine polish them when you're really bored!

What used to be a 4in. white pad.

Re: What Type Creeper Stools Do You Use?

Ive got a cheap mechanic's seat from Harbor Freight and the same platform that merlin listed.

That shop cart from Griot's is crazy expensive. Last one I bought was from Northern, believe it was...

Re: 2010 Camaro SS..Best cut and LSP ready

Tangerine HT pads and D151 leave a good finish in my experience. Good cut from that combo too. Menz Power Finish is 203 correct? Try that with HTs also. Bit less cut but finishes down really nice.

    Re: You polished WHAT?

Just finished re-modeling our master bath about 3 weeks ago. Gave the glass doors on our new shower a coat of Klasse AIO to aide in future cleaning. Did the same thing with the kitchen cabinets last...

Re: Can OCW provide enough protection

I'm using nothing more than DG Aquawax on my Mustang right now. 1 coat while drying, another the next day, and it's holding strong after 3 weeks.

With products like OCW and Aquawax I'd say there's...

    Re: Most Expensive car

BMW 750Li. I didn't mind the massive panels as much as the 23 miles of champagne-colored leather inside. I'm still tired, and that was something like 4 months ago.

Re: What are you all using for wheel mitts?

Chenille from Advance. Around $2 if I remember right. 9 times out of 10 I don't use it, but one of my regulars in particular has a set of 28" wheels on his Yukon and the mitt helps a great deal.

    Re: Good Detailers Seat

When I last bought wash/rinse buckets I bought dollys, the connector, lids, and a cushion.

Works fine for me. Sit on one, put stuff in the other.

Sticky: Re: Meguiar's DA Microfiber Correction System

Any word on durability from the sealant/wax portion of the Finishing Wax? I'm guessing similar to D151, which I've never known to last more than a few weeks all by itself.

    It's an interesting kit...

  17. Re: How important is a foam gun to washing a car properly?

I only ever break out the foam cannon for very bad off vehicles. Anything else I take care of with standard washing.

Do you need it? Not really. I don't need a pressure washer, 10 different wheel...

Re: Your favorite shampoo? & why?

    Ultima for me.

Ultima is kinda interesting. It says "free rinising" and "leaves no film" but it seems to remove the beading aspect of your wax and replace it with a sheeting effect, sort of like...

    Re: order of cleaning...

Out of all the "gentle" or "ultra fine" grade clays that I've used I've yet to see one that doesn't leave any sort of marring. Not saying I've used them all by any means though.

  22. Underhood polished metals - Dedicated metal sealant?

Just as the title states, do you need a dedicated metal sealant for underhood use? Specifically things that get quite hot, uncoated, polished valve covers and a supercharger for example.
