Re: Body shop work - Is this acceptable?

Actually, I do have a shot that shows the texture on the paint.

I have an appointment in a week and a half to re-wrap the hood with PPF, and have to decide whether I want to cancel that...

Body shop work - Is this acceptable?

Several weeks ago, my vehicle was hit with some freeway debris, which shattered my windshield, and made a little dent near the top of the hood. I took it to a body shop, where they flattened the...

    Re: Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant?

I never used it on anything extremely faded until a few days ago, when I used it on a hard plastic hose nozzle that has been sitting out in the sun. On that item, the ETS restored the black color,...

    Re: Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant?

WG ETS is the best plastic trim product that I've tried so far.

As for durability, I'd say it easily lasts over a year. YMMV based on external conditions that your vehicle is exposed to.

Re: Griots Garage glass polish issues.

If I remember correctly, someone posted a how-to where they recommended priming the whole pad with polish before starting.
  6. Re: 2014 Maserati MC Granturismo in for new car prep+Xpel+Finest

    Francisco,
Do you apply any coating to the paint under the Xpel?
Once the Xpel is installed, do you put a coating on top of the PPF?

    Re: 'dipping' cars

To anyone who has experience with this:
Would you recommend putting on a wax/sealant/coating first to facilitate removal in the future, or would you strip/polish off any previously applied LSP...

    Re: It's a "Wrap"

Nice. The car looks more sporty with the decals.

Did you put on a coat of Collinite before the decals were applied?
  9. Re: Ultima Waterless Wash+, spoiled or contaminated?

The product in question was the ready-to-use 22 oz spray bottle, which did not require any mixing.

Is the RTU product supposed to have the same scent as the concentrate? I wonder why concentrate...
  10. Re: Ultima Waterless Wash+, spoiled or contaminated?

It has been stored in my garage. It has not been frozen. It spent several days in my bathroom.

The solution that came from this bottle has always been slightly cloudy white, not green. I also...
  11. Ultima Waterless Wash+, spoiled or contaminated?

I have a 22 oz spray bottle of Ultima Waterless Wash Plus, and I opened it to transfer a smaller amount to a small spray bottle.

When I opened it, I was confused and a bit grossed out to find some...
  12. Re: Comparison: Tuf Shine vs Griot's Garage Tire Rejuvenator

Thanks for helping me get the pics up, Ray.

This was the first time I'd machine scrubbed my tires. In the past, I would manually scrub using GG Rubber Cleaner or an APC, followed by Rubber...
  13. Re: Montana's Boars Hair Brush vs Griot's MF Brush

I used to get discount coupon codes via email sometimes, but haven't received one in quite a while. I don't know if they stopped sending them, or if it's because I haven't ordered directly from them...
  14. Re: Montana's Boars Hair Brush vs Griot's MF Brush

I have both of these brushes. I prefer the GG brush because:

-washing a car takes a long time, and I don't want to prepare another 20 minutes ahead to pre-soak the boar's hair brush.

  15. Re: Comparison: Tuf Shine vs Griot's Garage Tire Rejuvenator

I started this thread on 1/28, but the dressings on the tires were applied a few days prior to that. It has now been 14 days since the tires were scrubbed clean and coated with dressings.

    Because...

Re: Chance to win some AutoGeek Gear!

    Collinite 845.
Looks great, inexpensive, and durability for a wax is hard to beat.
  17. Re: Comparison: Tuf Shine vs Griot's Garage Tire Rejuvenator

I have only used GG Rubber Prep on tires.
Rubber Prep is a volatile liquid that flashes/evaporates pretty quickly.

But I think I'd be hesitant to use it on plastic trim. I'd rather just use an...
  18. Re: Comparison: Tuf Shine vs Griot's Garage Tire Rejuvenator

    Bristle. (see attachment.)
I bought these brushes at the 99 Cent Only store.
I used the 2" one for the GG, and 1 1/2" one for Tuf Shine.
  19. Re: Comparison: Tuf Shine vs Griot's Garage Tire Rejuvenator

    No problem.

I think most 'geeks would naturally think that applying Tuf Shine on bare, clean rubber would give the best result. But sometimes when someone thinks outside the box to try an...
  20. Re: Comparison: Tuf Shine vs Griot's Garage Tire Rejuvenator

I wouldn't call GG Tire Rejuvenator "just another tire dressing," as I might categorize Armor All. It contains a dye that restores the black color to rubber, and the tire feels very clean after...
  21. Comparison: Tuf Shine vs Griot's Garage Tire Rejuvenator

For the past few years, my preferred tire restoration product has been Griot's Garage Tire Rejuvenator. (It used to be sold under the name Weatherproof Tire Dressing.) This product has the...

  24. Re: Note to self.... Jettas require JackHammer DA Attachment!

Take some comfort in knowing that you're not the only one who finds Jetta paint difficult to correct. I have a 2003 Jetta, and when I first got into detailing, its paint was in bad condition, with...
