I actually think we can probably thank Sal Zaino for that.

    Pads

I recently used my new Griot's G9 for the first time, also my first time machine polishing. I was using the Boss thin (5 1/2 inch) correcting pads, and as long as I stayed on flat panels - all was...

    Re: Clay bar

I have been using the Nanoskin mitt. I use it after I wash each panel, keeping it in the 'clean' pail. I gave away my clay bars after using the mitt. I would have just as much much confidence in any...

    Re: Clay bar

You don't "have" to do anything. IF you use a clay bar or a mitt/towel, you will have a cleaner, smoother surface to apply your AIO, and it will bond better. I would suggest you try white correcting...

    Re: PVD Wheel Chroming

I have PVD chrome and clear coated wheels from American Racing. One had a bubble pop up and ended up chipping. Another had a chip come off near a valve stem. First one was replaced under warranty,...

    Re: Waxing Black Car

I used the Color Magic on a dark charcoal car I had and it worked quite well. The end result was certainly much better than the white specks. Was not a long lasting protectant, but I am sure that...

Re: Question about automatic car wash

I should have mentioned earlier, last year I used Meguiars Ultimate Fast Finish as my winter protection, and thought it held up quite well.

Re: Question about automatic car wash

In my local wash - the pre-soak applied is nasty. Doesn't strip, but degrades very fast. I try to limit it to 5-6 washes for the winter.

    Thanks Mike !!

Also asked on Mike's product review forum:

    1. Will the product remove existing wax/sealant?

    2. Product page says "For best results, remove Bug Blocker within 48 hours..." Any idea how long the...

    Re: Review: BLACKFIRE Bug Blocker

    1. Will the product remove existing wax/sealant?

    2. Product page says "For best results, remove Bug Blocker within 48 hours..." Any idea how long the product can remain without nasty consequences?
  13. Re: Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax OR Fast Finish?

How do you define "better?" ULW is very easy to apply if kept thin (easier said than done). ULW will have better gloss, but likely not last as long. UFF will apply easier and last longer, with not...
  14. Re: AIO or Cleaner/Wax Recommendation? For 2018 Lexus GX with 202 Non-metallic black paint?

Well, that was a great experience! I applied by hand, using a Chemical Guys hex logic (white) foam applicator. Very pleased with the cleaning, even completely took out a small scratch on trunk lid.

Looking forward to trying my Blackfire One-Step this weekend!!
  16. Re: Might need a new hose reel, need suggestions

Yes. And do yourself a favor and get the gooseneck adapter as well.

    Re: Clay/Clay Mitt and marring.

My experience is that most marring events are user error. Too much pressure or too little lube.

I've not used actual clay since getting my Nanoskin mitts.

Re: Review - Meguiar's Ultimate Fast Finish

This is not surprising to me. I once used some 105 or 501 to clean up a small blemish on my trunk lid, and when I got home the next day I had a perfect circle of heavy dust where I had applied it. It...
  19. Re: New car, first detail. Need advice on using Nanoskin autoscrub

I have the Nanoskin fine mitt, and I have not used clay since. I simply wash each panel, rinse, and then "wash" it again using the NS mitt, which is soaking in it's own bucket of (generously mixed,...
  20. Re: AIO sealant/wax for periodic cleaning of paint/ add a coat of wax

I used 360 this weekend for the first time on my own ride. I am a past user and promoter of DG 501, but I can honestly say my car has never looked better. I plan to top it with WGDGPS within a month,...
  21. Re: New Guy getting started and looking for guidance on products

A little surprised you haven't gotten any responses on this. I have the Nanoskin mitt and haven't used clay since starting. Yes, you will want to "break in" the mitt on the glass (I use the rear...

I would like to add my thanks for the time and effort as well! I had already purchased WGDGPS just before you began your test, and finally applied it two weeks ago.

I was skeptical about the cost...

Well, we finished up in about 3 1/2 hours from the start of dragging out the hose. He had driven through a touch free wash prior to coming to the house, and while it knocked a few layers off, he was...
