Thanks Abrcrombe, i found out the hard way with the Nissan. I screwed the paint up pretty bad. The worst was my Suzuki bike, gorgeous liquid looking red, just looking at it with the wrong attitude...
In general japanese cars have a softer clearcoat. I know my old Maxima, a '95 was either very soft or not clearcoated. I've read some manufacturers don't CC black cars. Toyota was mentioned...
I think there's a chance of the glass shattering if there's enough damage. A jolt from a pothole or something similar could trigger the breakage. The windshield is a structural element of the car....
They say bad things come in sets of three... so you won't have anymore windshield issues. Seriously, sorry about the bad luck. At least you weren't hurt. It sounds like it could have caused a bad...
Is there a commonly available deodorizer that will get cigarette odor out of a car? I'll be selling a car that was lent to a family member and have to clean it up. I'll also be using this car for...
There are kits available at different suppliers. Cheap wax will turn out to be a time waster. Wax, even a good one, does not last that long. Buy one of the better ones and you'll do less work and...

In my experience the worst embedded dirt is behind the wheels(lower sides not wheel wells) and very low on the car after that i think the hood. I think after many years of washing top down anything...
As a tip for the future if you don't already know. Use a detail brush first on plastic gauge faceplates to remove the grit w/o scratching then use whatever protectant you want after.
It seems to me the whole temp thing is kind of pointless. If the wax is still beading it's still there protecting. This just leads to the durability question which every one knows is pretty short....
