    Re: VW B-Pillars

You don't need too, applying PPF to them will make them look perfect and with self-healing film they will stay looking perfect.

    Re: Reliable Electric pressure washers

The Kranzel are excellent units, no doubt about that. I just couldn't justify paying almost twice as much for a less powerful unit.

I did purchase a 50' hose and went with a 1/4" simply because...

    Re: Reliable Electric pressure washers

I have no way to test the manufactures specs, but I can say it blows away the cheap box store electric units, though it does have less pressure then a lot of the larger gas powered units. Pressure...
  12. Re: What is the point of a ceramic coating if you have to maintain it?

Technically, all you have to do is wash it properly, regularly, and maybe do an annual or bi-annual decon to remove tar, iron fallout, and other bonded contaminants.

You don't "need" to use a...

    Re: Reliable Electric pressure washers

Yes, I've had it since August of 2016. Excellent power at 2.1GPM and 1900psi (which can be dialed down) and I've had no issues thus far. I did buy a longer hose and different wand (flexible) with...

    Re: Reliable Electric pressure washers

AR 630TSS. All the power of a Kranzel but a fraction of the price. Need a 20amp breaker though.

    Re: Q: ceramic over xpel...overkill?

It can cause bonding issues and most film manufactures won't warranty it if it lifts when the paint has been coated. I've seen plenty of installers say they've had issues with it too, though I think...

    Re: Q: ceramic over xpel...overkill?

Well, the cost for a full PPF job on a car is going to run $5000+ depending on the vehicle and location. The cost to also apply a coating is going to come down to the installer and whether or not...

    Re: Q: ceramic over xpel...overkill?

I've been applying ceramic coatings to PPF for 9 year now without issue and the benefits have been very clear. Most notably is the increased resistance to staining and etching from bugs and bird poo....
  18. Re: Help me plan a routine for keeping hard water spots off brand new vehicle.

Without removing the cause of the issue I'm not sure there is a good solution. Finding a wax, sealant, or coating that makes water lay flat and sheet vs. bead would be the only thing I would suggest....
  19. Re: Drying towels: is the PFM by Griot's still the best?

I've found this to happen as well!
  20. Re: Drying towels: is the PFM by Griot's still the best?

I've been using the PFM drying towels for over 3 years now and I've never once had to wring one out. I can easily dry my full size Ram 1500 with one PFM towel and still have enough left in it do dry...
  21. Re: Ceramic coating real life swirl/scratch resistance

You know what, I used to think the exact same thing too until I recently played around with Feynlab Self-Heal Lite. This is a hand applied coating, 1 coat, and if I can take a brass wire brush to it...
  22. Re: Optimum Hyper Polish Spray With Long Throw Polisher?

As with any polish, the carrier oils have the ability to hide things like faint marring. A good panel wipe will remove them but I've found a lot of others not as effective with Hyper Polish. (Eraser,...
  23. Re: Optimum Hyper Polish Spray With Long Throw Polisher?

Yeah, it can be too strong for some painted plastic pieces and PPF. It definitely removes more than a lot of the other preps I've tried.

Re: Yes, I bought a KIA

Jalopnik posted an article last week that some dealers were marking them up, one even went as far to say that Kai was requiring them to mark it up. They tried to add another $5k to the sticker of the...

Re: Yes, I bought a KIA

Congrats! My buddy just got his last week too! I'll be wrapping it in PPF and coating it in a few weeks. :)

Did they try and charge you over MSRP for yours?
