Re: Need some tips on older single stage.

And that's all I'm doing. It cleaned up well.744177441874419
I used the red bottle, as I could get it locally. Used a DA with a medium cut/finishing. I may run over it quick again with a polishing...

Re: Need some tips on older single stage.

Update: gave it a quick wash yesterday just to drive it on grandpa's birthday. Literally everyone asked what I did to make it shine. It is a lot better than even I remembered and I think the AIO...

Need some tips on older single stage.

First let me say this. I already read this article so I feel I have a decent handle what I have to do.

The car, 1955 thunderbird with a lacquer paint job done in the early 80s if memory serves....

    Re: Specific paint issues.

Figured I would update quick... so I grew a pair and took some compound to the car.

I tried M105 in a hidden area and that was just too much... left it worse than it was so I scratched that.

    Re: Specific paint issues.

In person you can make out the actual lines on whomever palm it was. And you can see the prints on the finger tips further up. It's kind of wild. The photo doesn't portray it well.

    Re: Specific paint issues.

It ain't stock anyway lol. It's my fun car. I honestly think the repaint was needed when it was done... it was definitely a daily the first half of its life. I did happen to pull the original build...

    Re: Specific paint issues.

I'll get some pictures up. They show it pretty well. The hand prints I know I can't fix... from 5 feet it looks good and just driving past looks fine. When you really look at it it's meh. Plus it's...

    Re: Specific paint issues.

I suppose I could have been clearer. The prep itself was good. The paint is good... there are two small spots where it is exposed but they're up under the car... my hidden test spots.. basically it's...

    Specific paint issues.

Good morning. I have an 84 vette that was resprayed in the 90s. The car has what I consider a really good paint job on it with what I consider terrible prep. Case in point when dad bought it back in...

Good morning everyone. I am new but not new here. Lurked for a long time. Per the suggestion of a friend on colorado forum I made an account as I have a few questions. He said here is obviously the...
