Re: What to do a couple of years after CSL and EXO

Thanks. When I did the car originally, it was terrible - I did a 3 stage correction. It’s not bad now but defo some marks. Do you think I need to be worried about another polish on the top coast...

Re: What to do a couple of years after CSL and EXO

Thanks very much. I guess I was worried about polishing and risking either damaging or only partly removing the CSL but it sounds like it won’t still be there anyway!

What to do a couple of years after CSL and EXO

    Hi folks,

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

    I’d really appreciate some advice!

I did CSL on a full fat RR 2/3 years ago, followed by two coats of EXO V2.

Obvs it’s been a while and...

    Re: Finishing advice / coatings

I should've done more before pics, it was very rough. The dealership just used heaps of filler, so I hadn't spotted it when I bought it. I really didn't expect it to come up so well, which is why I...

    Re: Finishing advice / coatings

Finally.... finished (except for glass, which is next week)!

Very pleased - the paint was not good at all and someone at the dealership had done a TERRIBLE job of some bad cheap smart repairs and...

    Re: Finishing advice / coatings

That looks great! Thank you - I'll probably do the same. Just as a guide, I don't suppose you recall how many towels you got through in total? Was it 3 per panel? How long did that take you to do CSL...

Getting there... ready for application of CSL + 2xEXO tomorrow :props:

Some pics attached of the issues when I bought the car and now. I'm pleased!

    Thanks...

    Re: Finishing advice / coatings

I don’t dry it - I use a water filter, so no spotting when naturally drying. Maybe I’ll give it a gentle blow but that’s it :dblthumb2:

    Re: Finishing advice / coatings

OK, thanks! I was really just thinking of avoiding it ahead of coating but I guess the paint is clean and a mitt would help remove dust…:xyxthumbs:

    Re: Finishing advice / coatings

Just don’t want to risk introducing any scratching. I generally avoid using unless I have to but just after correcting and polishing, probably best to avoid?

    Re: Finishing advice / coatings

Yeah, thanks! I actually use bilt hamber auto foam :-)

I don’t want to use a mitt now until after CSL but I’ll foam and rinse and panel wipe like you say to get rid of dust! I’ll post some pics...

    Re: Finishing advice / coatings

Yeah, we’ll…… to be honest, I didn’t know how much work the correction was going to be and I didn’t know it would turn out really looking quite good. Plus, I thought deep gloss sealant was good but I...

    Re: Finishing advice / coatings

I normally snow foam and rinse. If I have to ‘wash’, I use gtechniq G-wash and filtered water, so naturally dry.
that good? I guess I’ll add gtechniq quick detailer in future and probably too the...

    Re: Finishing advice / coatings

Thanks - I’m going to do CSL and EXO. Do you reckon I’ll get two coats of exo on a Range Rover out of 50ml?
how long would you leave EXO between coats?

    much appreciated!

Actually that is a bit of an issue... I have some CarPro Eraser but I've read that I really need GTechniq Panel wipe as that is designed to completely strip the panel where eraser isn't. I REALLY...

    Finishing advice / coatings

    Hi Folks,

I'm just finishing 2 stages on a car that wasn't great but is now looking pretty good :-)

I'm planning to finish with Wolfgang deep gloss paint sealant BUT I'm wondering a few things...

Re: Help! I made a bit of a mess with a Bigfoot

Re: Help! I made a bit of a mess with a Bigfoot

I’m extremely grateful for you all taking time to help, thank you!

I think next time I may steer away from the all in one and instead do a 3 stage process with cut, polish and then finish.

    Does...
