  1. Re: GLOBAL IDA Certification Event - Phase II (SV) presented by Autogeek.com

WOW talk about a red face. When I read that, I actually read it as September (even though I then clearly typed June) because September is when the 3-day class is set to happen and I know you do IDA...
  2. Re: GLOBAL IDA Certification Event - Phase II (SV) presented by Autogeek.com

Hey Mike, I think you meant that this will fall on SUNDAY June 26th, and not Saturday. Unless we're talking about a different year :D
  3. Re: 2016 Mercedes-Benz S550 - Wolfgang Paint Correction and Ceramic Coating

Mike, were you able to restore the rubber trim? If so, do you mind mentioning how you did it?
  4. Re: Interested in Boot Camp but have to leave Sunday....what do I miss?

Thanks Mike, that's good info to have. Hopefully it will all work out.
  5. Interested in Boot Camp but have to leave Sunday....what do I miss?

Hey Mike (and everyone else on the internet),

I am looking at trying to make it out for the boot camp in September, however I have an all-hands company meeting I have to be back for on 9/27 Monday...
  6. Re: Learn to machine sand TODAY! LIVE Detailing Class at 3:00pm Eastern Time

Mike, thanks for the info, and I do apologize if you felt I was annoyed at you....it was really more being annoyed at my own search results.
  7. Re: Learn to machine sand TODAY! LIVE Detailing Class at 3:00pm Eastern Time

Mike, thanks for this explanation. Sadly, it seems I had found some older threads when searching for recommended pads (and backing plates) for the CBEAST (capitalization correction noted), and...
  8. Re: Learn to machine sand TODAY! LIVE Detailing Class at 3:00pm Eastern Time

Mike, in this live demo, you used the Flex CBeast with a 7-inch Rupes pad. I thought I had read somewhere else on the forum (the search is failing me, but I swear it was one of your posts) that you...

    Re: Stool bucket combo??

I'd imagine AG's liability insurance would go up dramatically with a lift installed.

    Re: Fender flares restoration question

I would advise against the heat gun. It's going to prematurely age that plastic, and make it more brittle. I assume what you have there is a textured finish, so sanding is right out, because it...

Re: Question for you guys who live in a blizzard..

I am far from an expert here, HOWEVER my experience with fabric protection makes carpets a lot less absorbent...it's part of how they prevent stains from setting in. I view the mats as a sacrificial...

Re: Pressure washer gas or electric

I have both at my house. 2600PSI 2.5GPM gas unit from Excel, and a 1600PSI 1.2GPM electric "boxy boy" handheld unit from ryobi. I couldn't imagine using a gas PW for the car, honestly. It's...
  13. Re: Training Cars for the February Detailing Class

As much as I would love to take a class, travel to Florida is not in the cards for me right now. But if it was I would drive my 2015 S60 down if it could get the pro treatment.
  14. Re: Training Cars for the February Detailing Class

Mike, might I ask how you choose the cars for the training classes? What's involved? Does a trainee ever bring their own car in to have it worked on during the class?

Re: Touching up orange dashboard stitching

There is an old saying "Do not let the perfect be the enemy of the good"
This is not a show car, this is your daily driver car. It's gonna get dirty, and it's gonna sometimes get things on it that...

Re: removing hardened pin stripe tape

Looking at that picture, it honestly looks like those might be painted on or something. This is why the chemicals have not penetrated and removed it. I don't think vegetable oil is going to help...

Re: removing hardened pin stripe tape

A picture here would really help. If the adhesive on the tape has hardened, there is one thing you absolutely MUST have in order to get it off. Patience. If you've used acetone, gas, and a heat...

Re: Review: GYEON Q2M Tire SiO2 Coating

Interesting. I too prefer a matte look to all that shine, so I will be interested to see how the tires hold up especially after rain.

Also, I have been told it is not polite to talk about your...
  19. Re: Water Spots in Brand New C8 Corvette - DOCUMENT PRE-EXISTING DAMAGE

So, was the spot on the hood where you suspected burn-through actually burned through? Were you able to get out the scrape/smudge from the roof?

More importantly, I assume you've now removed some...

Re: Was I foolish to buy it?

So in this case, all the word "pro" means is not that it's short for "professional" but instead that it means something completely different?
I'm upset that a bunch of armchair internet detailers...

But still no video of it doing what it claims to do. You'd think if it was that great there would be some evidence, wouldn't you? How's about I link you to any one of a kazillion products on Amazon...

Re: Was I foolish to buy it?

If you want to be deceptive, go ahead and ignore the fact that it's listed as the "Wax Attack 2 POWER PRO" and then pretend that labelling something PRO doesn't imply that it's claiming to be a...

Re: New Graphene product from IGL and maybe carpro?

That's not how science works. It's not up to me to prove it's false, it's up to the chemists for those companies making the claims to prove that it's TRUE. But you go ahead and sell unproven pixie...

Re: New Graphene product from IGL and maybe carpro?

Neither of those characteristics are due to what is basically ground up pencil lead added to the coating. They may be due to reformulation of the resins, etc in the coating. And let me tell you...
