    Re: Clay products - 2023

Have you thought about putting that contaminated piece in a sandwich bag or ziplock and then it would be safe to store alongside it’s unmolested “mother-bar” without risk of contamination?

Re: Anyone switch to the ONE-bucket method?

I prefer a pearl weave microfiber with laser cut edges. AutoGeek sells them made by Cobra(popularized by MP when he was around)it would appear the 12 packs are out of stock on AG but you can find...

Re: The Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits Thread

Let me start by saying that none of my vehicles have a front plate (I make sure to let the dealers know if they screw a plate holder into my bumper they will loose the sale). That being said I know...
  4. Re: What’s you guys’ opinions of applying these window stickers after coating?

    This

I have worked on cars where the owner just purchased a new-used high end car and asked me to coat it for them. Then once I started to wash the vehicle it becomes obvious that it is already...
  5. Re: Need recommend: microfiber cutting pads for DA

I have many 150mm wool and foam pads that I use with my 5” backing plate. The Velcro loop on the backing of the 150mm pad is 5” in diameter and the pad face is 150mm.

    Actually sorry I forgot in...
  6. Re: Need recommend: microfiber cutting pads for DA

Rupes 150mm Microfiber would be a good alternative to the Meg’s pads. The 150mm work well with a 5” backing plate and work well with a DA.

Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

As an ex-tire jockey in a way-past-(college job)-life that white stuff isn’t grease but tire mounting soap. Should come off easily with a damp microfiber. Enjoy the snow traction.

Re: How are you caring for PPF

I did a bunch of research on what to coat PPF with(or not to coat it). In the end I went with Dlux, on a a Suntec film. Seemed to work well without impacting the PPF.

    Re: Tire Dressing

How do you find it more difficult to apply? As with any new tire dressing I just did a deep clean of the tire as I do anytime when I’m applying a new product to ensure it “bonds” as well as possible....

Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Oh jeez… Like a crack-infused coating not all of the Reset in the world can scrub that image from my brain!

    Re: Tire Dressing

So far, quite happy with it I only applied one layer and it has a nice semi-gloss sheen which I prefer(black without greasy gloss), seems to dry so the tire looks dressed without an oily transfer...

I’ve been looking for a new tire coating applicator and found this handle applicator and pads kit at the “big river” selling place for under $10.

    Re: Reccomend a polish

VW paint is generally tough as nails, it’s a new car so I’d use those Rupes yellow pads with CarPro Essence. Essence finishes very well and serves double duty as being a polish/primer for coatings.

    Re: Rupes Uno Advanced-pad selection?

Having maintained quite a few VAG(VW Auto Group) cars, I’d invest in some Rupes Yellow wool or Micofiber pads and CarPro Ultra Cut. It’s aggressive enough to where you can make great improvements on...
