  1. Re: PPF specific coatings vs “normal” paint coatings on PPF feedback

For me after polishing Xpel PPF it felt super grabby. Water sheets slowly. It was a nice surprise using HALO. Slick and hydrophobic without a topper.

Re: SiO2 Ceramic Spray Sealant comparison test

I agree with Jescar Bead-it. It’s simple to use, has a decent amount of durability and gloss. My only complaint is it does allow small water spots to develop after rain. But it spots less than Sonax...

Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Coated my wheels and calipers with Gtechniq C5. I found a clay bar was effective in removing the final black dots off the spokes and barrel. The coating spread easily and wiped off without any grab....
  4. Re: Brand New Car, want a ceramic coating on it (I think). Which one?

I’m OCD. I like gloss all the time. I have been a weekly washer for years, and used wax, polymer sealants, SiO2 based sealants and toppers. Now I’m turned on by ceramic coatings. During winter as...

    Nanolex SiSplash vs. Jescar Bead-it

Contact wash today. This past week we drove ~600 miles round trip from New Jersey to spend time away in south Maine. What a beautiful state. Our SUV sat outside, went to beaches and on the way home...

Re: Should I upgrade to a Flex 3401?

I’ve never used a Flex 3401 so I’ll take your word for it. In terms of my experience with the Boss G15 vs GG6 there has never been an instance where I felt disappointed and a GG6 would do better. The...

    Should I upgrade to a Flex 3401?

This is probably not what you want to hear but why not stay with Griots and step up to a 15mm throw to achieve more speed? My original GG6 purchased in 2006 lasted 11 years and it was replaced under...

    Nanolex SiSplash vs. Jescar Bead-it

I thought it would be fun to share a few water bead pictures of the two SiO2 based sealants. They are both slick to the touch. SiSplash can be applied to a wet or dry panel and the label specifically...
  11. Seeking Recomendations for Paint Sealants to use on PPF Film.

My whole car is wrapped in Xpel and I’ve tried Fictech One a 1yr simple wipe on and off coating, tried toppers like Sonax BSD, P&S Bead Maker, none of them appeared to bond well beyond a few contact...

A week later. Wheels remained very clean and very hydrophobic.

I’m trying Sonax Wheel Rim Shield. It gives the center lug covers a satin sheen but haven’t noticed any runs.

Re: Turtle Wax Ceramic Wet Wax (Mini-Review)

Have you guys tried Griot’s Poly Wax? I think I read somewhere in here that it beats just about every sealant on the market. I’m also interested in the TW Hybrid line.

Re: Awesome Experience with P&S Beadmaker

I randomly thought about checking the material safety data sheet for Bead Maker.

    Description:
Orange, turbid liquid with sweet odor for use as a gloss enhancer for automobile.

Thanks. To correct them is compound polish strong enough or wet sanding required?

Re: Awesome Experience with P&S Beadmaker

I used a foam cannon a couple of times and it foams up well. Most of the time I use it in a bucket.

Re: Awesome Experience with P&S Beadmaker

I’m running low in Pearl. Have you tried Adams Car Soap or Sonax Car Wash? My PPF installer used Sonax Actifoam Energy. Dwell time looked ok but it’s $18 per liter which is kinda overkill.

Re: Awesome Experience with P&S Beadmaker

I think Forensic Detailer on youtube has mixed BM and BSD 1:1 and didn’t like it. He said the added slickness didn’t out weigh the loss in durability. I’ve cut BSD with water 1:1 and it’s easier to...

Yeah it’s therapy for me to do weekly washes on this car. I even wash when it is 34° outside with 2BM filled with warm water.
