Re: Most regretted detailing product purchase

I just cleaned out my garage and threw away CG Top Coat, CG Jet Seal and CG Butter Wet Wax ... bought all those before I knew better.

I have had good durability, but granted my car is garaged. I've seen 4-6 months.

Re: Work Hydroshot - Poor water pressure

i do this too. I find that I don’t even need a towel.

The Hydroshot is great for what it can do, but expecting a true pressure washer replacement is a mistake.

My favorite use for it is road...

Re: Question about automatic car wash

I, somewhat often, drive through the very close-by touch-less wash by my house. I'll come home and immediately then wash the car myself. Sometimes with a traditional bucket wash or other times, an...
  5. Re: Dark Blue 2018 Audi ... Sprinkler at lunch today ... water spots! ugh... help

    Thank you.

Update: I don't have to polish.
I tried to show in pictures, but I was unable to get the spots to show up on "film" (lol film).

Essentially, getting home and washing with ONR did...
  6. Re: Dark Blue 2018 Audi ... Sprinkler at lunch today ... water spots! ugh... help

I'm going to try the Griot's products first with foam pads then MF pads if needed. Audi paint is hard, so kind of expecting to need the MF pads, also by Griots.[/QUOTE]

    I've owned Audi's and just...
  7. Re: Dark Blue 2018 Audi ... Sprinkler at lunch today ... water spots! ugh... help

Well, I made improvements when I get home, but not perfect. And I should be able to use the 3D Eraser (acid) on them tomorrow night. In the mean-time, only limited time in the sun to bake. Fingers...
  8. Re: Dark Blue 2018 Audi ... Sprinkler at lunch today ... water spots! ugh... help

    That's a fair question.
You'll see above that I'm actually going to try the 3D Eraser Water Spot Remover first.

It's an acid-based water spot remover so I'm hoping it has good results like that...
  9. Re: Dark Blue 2018 Audi ... Sprinkler at lunch today ... water spots! ugh... help

    It was.
At least their result showed a small improvement only from MDR (Optimum's Mineral Deposit Remover), good results for an acid based wheel cleaner (guessing Meg's Wheel Brightener) and then...
  10. Re: Dark Blue 2018 Audi ... Sprinkler at lunch today ... water spots! ugh... help

    Thank you.

My neighbor has some 3D Eraser Water Spot Remover that I'd like to try as well. We'll see if that works first then I'll try polishing.
In watching a video online, it is showing acid...
  11. Dark Blue 2018 Audi ... Sprinkler at lunch today ... water spots! ugh... help

So, my car has/had Bead Maker re-applied maybe 3 days ago.

Today at lunch, in the hot Texas sun, the freakin' sprinkler covered it and left behind hard water spots.
It baked for a few hours...

    Re: How's My Beading ?

Why are people worried about water spots from rain?
It’s hard water that etches paint with the minerals etc.
Rain just leaves spots by moving and leaving dirt and dust at the edges.
    Is there a...

Re: Share useful and weird tips

My favorite thing after a long drive or just to prevent bugs etching into the paint if I cannot take the time to do a full wash:
I bought a Worx Hydroshot and source distilled water, then spray off...

Re: Orange water spots on paint

The original description doesn't sound like these. He said they were not a solid circle, etc.

    Re: Polishing a windshield

That makes sense. I couldn't figure out why you'd see windshield washer marks, etc with the tint inside. It sounded like you were saying the tint was being marked up.
  16. Re: paint surface not as slick as it should be

I don’t know those products well, but I do know HCW and it doesn’t leave the surface very slick at all compared to other products. However, I love its protection.

I would try again on a test...

    Re: Polishing a windshield

    Agree. Confused by the OP.
If film is outside, I have no idea how you’d fix film.

BTW, all modern windshields already provide full UV protection. Tints help with heat though no doubt.

Re: Orange water spots on paint

This issue brings me back to my thoughts about “protection” with sealants and coatings.
So many cars that are “protected” get things like this.

What are we fooling ourselves into thinking we...

Since he doesn't even have a DA, I'm assuming he's very new into this. I'd change that last sentence to

    Re: Can you convince me?

Thanks. I love it, and wanted to keep using it each time, but was concerned it would abrade the paint too much over time. I know it's a very light abrasive, but I'm new to this. Appreciate it.

    Re: Can you convince me?

maybe a dumb question, but for both BF and HD/3D Speed, is it ok to use them on the same car a couple or few times a year without taking too much clear coat?

HD Speed ... Purple Stained Pads

So, I used this for the first time, and have been trying to wash my pads. They seem ‘clean’, but the formerly white pads are now purple.
Dawn, pad cleaning soap, don’t seem to do anything.

    I’m...
