Re: 2018 Subaru WRX - I love this car!

Funny, I got a 2016 WRX Sti to fit the 1 practical car niche as well rather than have 2 an MR2 and an Escape.

It worked and was a lot of fun. I sold it last year for the same reason Budgetplan...

Re: New Black Yukon and the usual stuff

You need to wipe the car with some cleaner to get rid of the polishing oils. Either IPA or something similar to Eraser. I would think any brands version of this form of prep would be fine.
    Same on...

Re: New Black Yukon and the usual stuff

I'm not a professional here, but I have used CQuartz as my first step into coatings and have been very happy with it. It was relatively easy to apply and buff. The end properties are good as well. ...

    Re: Does the Paint Match

I'm not an expert on here, but to me there is a noticeable tint shift in the rear door as compared to the front door.

I don't know how you fix it besides a repaint. I thought generally body...

Turtle Wax Bug and Tar on Ceramic coated car

Anyone know whether Turtlewax bug and tar contains any abrasives? and whether its safe on a coated car?

seems silly to go buy something else if this works, I just don't want to assume its safe...

Re: Claying one day and polish wax a week later

a few things, I don't think rdgrav means that. Although Im just a hobbyist.

    here is what I'd do.
Step 1 wash the car and rinse the car. Get the regular dirt off first before claying
    Step 2...

Re: Easy to apply coating (non ceramic?)

I haven't used Cancoat, but have used CQuartz Ti and Gyeon Synchro. The Synchro is better when done, but I feel like it was a lot more work having 3 coats vs the 1 I did for the CQuartz.

    I...

Re: I think I ruined my leather seat

You can see it in the pic, but it doesn't look bad when everything is dry...

I would think you should get it taken care of, but might consider bringing some leather cleaner to demonstrate to the...

    Re: Pricing for specific vehicles....

I was trying to comment on someone who said they charge by the hour. My point was that if you're hitting a job for 4 hours to get a DD Toyota to 80%-90% good enough and a Ferrari for 16 hours to get...
  12. Re: Scared that I may have burnt through clear coat compounding by hand

I had a WRX STi in that blue, 2016, It was in a front end accident and we replaced the fender hood and bumper. I had a really good shop do the work and they were able to paint match it great, and...

    Re: Pricing for specific vehicles....

I'm not detailing for money here and have had 0 experience with a car costing more than $60K, so for whatever its worth, here's my opinion of what everyone is saying.

IF you come in with a...

    Re: Gyeon Primer vs Polish

I did the roof in 4 sections and had minor issues. the hood I did in 2 sections, probably should have done it in 3 or 4 like I did the regular polish, and had more than minor issues. From what...

So I'm here to report back. I tried both the Primer and Polish. I decided originally I'd polish with my white pads then go back and use primer with finishing pads. Overall, the whole detail was...

Thanks for the replies. I did end up ordering the Gyeon polish and will see how that does on the car. I honestly haven't done enough real polishing work on my cars to have a great gauge on what...

Hi, longtime lurker first time caller.

I've been detailing my cars and family member's cars for a number of years now with moderate success and have just started to dive into coating my cars....
