Re: Another DISO - new car.

I'm not far from NYC. Shoot me a message and I'm sure I can help you remove the damage :)

Re: Lake Country Hybrid Heavy Cut Pads

To avoid staining like that on your pads I try to decontaminate the paint best as possible before polishing.

I presoak with an APC diluted 10:1 and then wash with a high PH soap to help strip old...

    Re: Leather Cleaning

Yes it will. I wish I took more pictures so I could post one.

If you clean old shiny leather with a diluted APC then it will restore the color and feel back to the leather. The sheen is from body...

    Re: Leather Cleaning

I typically use Mckees 37 high intensity APC diluted either 10:1 or 15:1 depending on how dirty it is. I aggitate with a soft bristle brush and dry. Then use a leather conditioner of your choice....

Re: Waterless wash, techniques for SPEED?

Your favorite rinseless wash, 4 microfiber towels soaking in the solution and my wheel bucket.

I wash the wheels/tires in about 10-15 minutes and then the car itself takes another 20 or so. I...
  6. Re: Video: Trying P&S Bead Maker for the first time.

While i have bought MANY detailing products, I hope this is a very good purchase.

I bought both because it was a 25% sale and I like to keep the products in a bottle with the proper label. Just...
  7. Re: Video: Trying P&S Bead Maker for the first time.

My gallon and 16oz bottle of beadmaker will be here Saturday as well!

It will be my first time trying it. Seems to be great for little money.

Re: Benefits of small sections with DA...?

Its mostly an experience thing on how large you can get away with doing and not dry the product up while still achieving the results you desire.

I mainly work my sections based on the shape of...

Re: Not your average coating recommendation

Perhaps use a pop-up tent to block most of the sun and use a product (mentioned earlier) like Gtechniq's CSL? It's super easy to apply and remove, plus it only requires one layer. Better longevity...

Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

    Did a interior/exterior detail on a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500.

Exterior was gross; driven through mud and it was caked on everywhere. There was also road tar in the passenger front wheel well.

Re: Pretty impressed with Optimum Hyper Polish

So I would venture to guess hyper polish is a "finishing" polish per say? I've been wanting to try it but not sure where to put it in my lineup.

    Re: Aio?

I really like the Griots Garage Finishing Sealant. But you can't go wrong with HD Speed either. There are literally so many options out there so don't go crazy trying to pick one. Most of them do a...

Re: Getting smoke stain off rubber trim?

Try Citrol 266 diluted 10:1. If that doesn't work, make the dilution a little bit stronger. It works most of the time.
  14. Re: Consensus on best compound & pad combination...

For heavy cutting its a Meguiars Microfiber Cutting disc and Sonax Cutmax or Griots FCC for me. Great combo. Other good compounds are D300, FG400, M105 (besides the dusting) and Jescar correcting...

Re: Mckee's 37 Foaming Wheel Cleaner

I just PM'd Nick on the 23rd pertaining to this issue. I was at a mobile job and had three different spray nozzles lock up on me. I wound up using something else I had which is unfortunate because I...
  16. Re: Getting good results using SuperClean on tires...

Scott uses it 4:1 for tires not straight. Every tire I’ve come across cleans just fine at 4-5:1 with one pass.

Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

The Sunday that just passed I did a one step correction on a 2010 Camaro SS. Came out very nice! Orange pad with Griots correcting cream and a 21mm polisher. Topped with powerlock + and Meguiars...
  18. Re: Getting good results using SuperClean on tires...

I've used it as "weak" as 10:1 on tires and it still does a great job! My standard dilution ratio for it is either 4:1 or 5:1 and there hasn't been a tire I can't get clean.

    The only time I use...

    Re: Protecting Winter Wheels?

I'll be doing the same with my winter wheels this season to try it out. I'm most likely going to try out gloss coat since I can get it so cheap and it's super easy to apply.

    Re: NEW Car New questions

I've had great luck with Griot's correction cream/Meguiars D300 on an orange polishing pad for a nice one step.

For your ceramic coating look into Gtechniq C1 topped with their EVOx4 ;)

    Re: Wolfgang Uber QD dilution

Re: Why Do Folks Use Multiple DA Polisher?

In some instances one particular DA isn't the best tool for the job. If you're working on super soft paint, a 21mm throw polisher won't be your best option as it creates more heat than a 15mm or 8mm...
  23. Re: Review - Gyeon Leather Shield (Leather Coating)

In my experience the coating does not allow any "conditioner" to penetrate the leather itself. BUT, to each their own :)
  24. Re: Review - Gyeon Leather Shield (Leather Coating)

I can't explain what you are feeling, but I can tell you I have never experienced a difference in the "suppleness" of any leather after applying leather conditioner. There is a plastic coating on...

Re: To buy a rotary or not?

Rupes also came out with a forced rotation polisher. I believe it has a 3mm (correct me if I'm wrong) throw. I've heard great things about it from a few detailers.
