  1. Re: Airplane Detailing at Autogeek - Using a one step cleaner wax

I’m lucky that my wife is a big help cleaning this plane. I was nervous about the plexiglass, but after buffing I realized how easy it was. I’m going to try and go after the oil stains tomorrow.

  4. Re: Airplane Detailing at Autogeek - Using a one step cleaner wax

Thank you! I’ve heard mixed reviews on single engine performance, but if I follow the numbers it shouldn’t be to bad. I might install a VG kit to try and help improve stall speeds. I’m just ready to...
  5. Re: Airplane Detailing at Autogeek - Using a one step cleaner wax

What’s left on the plane, is for me to finish flight training. Send the props off for the AD. Gear rigging and one more Nav/COMM radio. Also finish the paint. So it’s almost there

  8. Re: Airplane Detailing at Autogeek - Using a one step cleaner wax

All that is really left is the top of the tail, the wings and the underbody of the plane. Hopefully I’ll have some time this weekend to play with it. Also soon I should be posting a video of it...

Without your help I would probably be lost on the process.

  10. Re: Airplane Detailing at Autogeek - Using a one step cleaner wax

Sorry for the late response. It’s taking me awhile to do this plane. More of the cleaning aspect is taking a long process. I’ve been using BLACKFIRE waterless wash, Clay bar, BF clay lube,BF...

Sorry for the late update. I haven’t forgot about this project.

Cleaning the paint has been harder than I imagined. With tree residue and the residue leaving an outline from the cleaning.

  15. Re: Airplane Detailing at Autogeek - Using a one step cleaner wax

I have a dumb question, I’m looking at the RejeX sealant and I see that it’s pretty picky on temperature. The plane is covered in a hangar now, so would it be fine to apply. Or does temps over 85 in...
  16. Re: Airplane Detailing at Autogeek - Using a one step cleaner wax

Thank you for your input, I will probably stick with the porter cable route for right now. Reason being it’s all I have and I’m not sure I would be to comfortable using a rotary.
  17. Re: Airplane Detailing at Autogeek - Using a one step cleaner wax

As far as my dad and I are aware it’s the original paint job. We searched thru the log books. You might be thrown off because of the left tank. It was replaced with another tank. The original was...
