  1. Re: De-ionized water sure makes a big difference as far as foam thickness...

The reason it's less foamy is most likely due to surfectants in the tap water - more than likely from normal organics found everywhere in water.

    Re: BMW Paint Question

    Same...
Megs 105 and orange pad was the only thing that would make a dent in the swirls on my E60.

Re: What is on my tires?

^^ I've also used 0000 Steel Wool with Bleche Wite to get the super gummy junk off... It usually ends up blooming the tires, but nothing a little PB World Bold N Bright won't take care of to make...

    Re: Losing the willpower

    I'll bite...
I didn't see if this was the case, but if you're trying to be meticulous with your daily drivers, I can certainly relate. I gave up on that years ago.
However, once I got the garage...
  8. Re: First time Cquartz UK application. Feeling sticky

That's exactly what Duragloss 111 is like when I put it on too thick, and cool temps (40's F), and on a black metallic car like that. Looks like a coat of oil.
If I let it sit for a while, then...

    Re: Klasse AIO alternative

Thanks for the perspective. Pics of the pad just seemed overly dirty for my taste, but if it's effective, by all means carry on.

    Re: Klasse AIO alternative

That's a lot of dirt on that white pad - You're just grinding that dirt into the paint. I would consider claying next time after a wash, and being meticulous about getting the paint clean before...

Re: Anybody use car brite fallout remover?

I've wanted to try a bunch of the Car Brite products. And coincidentally, I was looking for a new FE & fallout product.
I'm assuming this isn't a color-changer, though. Also, you are right,...

The issue I have with RainX is that it leaves white streaks up over the roof after it rains.

    Re: Wax on wax off

    Lol. Very helpful suggestion!

You can try some clay, but a little Dawn should clean you right up.
    Congrats on the GT500!
  18. Re: Swirls, whast is next after Meguiars Ultimate Compound

SwirlX and UC will get through it, but nearly impossible by hand. If you're really frugal, the Harbor Freight Palm Polisher will work, with a terry cloth bonnet, it will just take a while. I think...

What grit would you recommend to start with, and what's the coarsest grit you would use? It appears the Mirka Abralon goes from 180-3000.

Any concern to detailing while raining?

It's cold and rainy (40's), and I wanted to ask - Is there any concern to this? Obviously not IN the rain, but in the open garage just a few feet away from pouring rain, so obviously 100% humidity.
