  1. Re: Iron cleaning products vs wheel cleaners?

Frankly, if anything, this thread has showed me that based on my needs and what I uderstand about the products, I should just stick to brake buster and just keep my IronX as a dedicated decon...
  2. Re: Iron cleaning products vs wheel cleaners?

Interesting it does seem then like a combination of both a wheel cleaner and iron remover but it still seemed to struggle there.
  3. Re: Iron cleaning products vs wheel cleaners?

Okay so the IronX type products are low pH ~ 7 compared to Brake Buster pH 11, so on that alone brake buster has better cleaning ability IMO. But I dillute it 1:4 so... not sure how the ph works out...
  4. Re: Iron cleaning products vs wheel cleaners?

Used to use this product (consumer version) before haha before dwelling into other products.

But this doesn't really answer the main question, now that you present this product, for example how...
  5. Re: Iron cleaning products vs wheel cleaners?

I really don't want to change my cleaning product I like ONR. I just want to know if IronX does what brake buster does basically as good or better (except the rust inhibitor).
  6. Re: Iron cleaning products vs wheel cleaners?

Yeah the topic kinda went offtopic here... but yeah even with the hydroshot I rather not get my driveway all icy either. That's why I use the coin wash to pre-prinse the car and clean wheels, then I...
  7. Re: Iron cleaning products vs wheel cleaners?

I've never heard of the rust dust being an issue. I have not experienced the same issue as you even though I use brake buster 1:4, the rotors still become rusty.
  8. Re: Iron cleaning products vs wheel cleaners?

Oh right ok gotcha, yeah, the touchless washes are just for like maintenance/upkeep I'd say.

Yes but that feature is a gimmick because the rust is removed by simply braking. I have a BMW with...
  9. Re: Iron cleaning products vs wheel cleaners?

Interesting others are saying agitation is definitely gonna be needed.

Yeah the rust inhibitor is quite a gimmick, rust goes away when using the brakes so.
  10. Re: Iron cleaning products vs wheel cleaners?

They're already protected with sealant but next year I am going the coating route for the whole car.
  11. Re: Iron cleaning products vs wheel cleaners?

From a power perspective though which one works best? For example I'm starting to want to do touchless wheel washes.
  12. Re: Iron cleaning products vs wheel cleaners?

Usually in the sumemr my wheels are also cleaned often, full car cleaned every week but yeah iinter since it's other wheels and winter, usually try to clean the car once per month. I didn't think...
  13. Iron cleaning products vs wheel cleaners?

I am trying to gauge which one sits higher or if there is one better than the other.

For example I have both Brake Buster and CarPro IronX. Is IronX on it's own good enough as a cleaner for...

    Carpro Inside vs Multi X

Hey I am slowly gravitating my detailing arsenal to Carpro and I just picked up Inside as my interior cleaner. I was still debating on either getting a APC that can be used inside, engine bay etc vs...

    Re: Questions about sealant choice

Yeah, which is why though I expect opti seal to apply much better than a thicker liquid. Also read some good stuff on people who actually applied it at freezing temp so I'm looking positive for that....

    Re: Questions about sealant choice

Honestly I want nothing to do with SIO2 products as I've read it will make your towels useless over time (they won't absorb).

    Questions about sealant choice

I used Jescar Powerlock for my base lsp and used the beadmaker as a drying aid/topper when drying my weekly washes but now I am looking at switching to opti seal to replace the powerlock.

    The...

Re: Can you use PERL with Opti seal

Interesting. I love PERL smell and also I figured at 1:5 it wouldn't be to shiny considering 1:1 isn't that shiny on tires.

Re: Can you use PERL with Opti seal

Okay yeah, anyway PERL should last a nice time like a month I assume since it's on the inside.

Can you use PERL with Opti seal

I am switching my product regiment up a little bit and I'm replcaing my powerlock with some opti seal. I also learned opti seal can be applied to the interior but I planned to use PERL for that...
  22. Re: Should I clay before winter or after?

Ohh I was thought and read that decontaminating paint before LSP helps make it last the longest?
  23. Re: Should I clay before winter or after?

Just worried if I don't clay power lock won't last through winter?
  24. Re: Should I clay before winter or after?

I don't I'll do a polish until I move out into my own place where I can use the garage year round. At the moment I can spot some swirls in certain lightning but not a whole lot, still looks real good...
  25. Re: Should I clay before winter or after?

No I sold my cheap DA after I had corrected my paint beginning of summer. So it's why I'm looking for a clay that's goanna marr the less.
